Check Out Kaylee Hartcraft’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Hartcraft.

Hi Kaylee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Kaylee, the face behind Kay’s Parties!

What started as a small passion for decorating my own family’s celebrations has grown into something I truly love, helping others bring their party visions to life. I’ve always had a creative side, but once I started making balloon garlands and backdrops for friends, I realized this was something special. There’s just something about seeing someone’s eyes light up when they walk into their event and it looks even better than they imagined.
I’m based in Fredericksburg, Tx and I serve the surrounding areas, creating custom balloon garlands, & backdrops. Every setup is handcrafted with love, care, and creativity. Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, wedding, or business event, I put my heart into every design.
As a wife and mom of three, life can be a beautiful kind of busy, but this business has given me the gift of connecting with so many amazing people and being part of their happiest moments. I truly believe that celebrating life, in all its big and small moments, is something worth making beautiful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road! Like most small business owners, I’ve had my share of challenges along the way. When I first started Kay’s Parties, I was learning everything as I went, from pricing and time management to building confidence in my work. There were moments I questioned if I could really do this, especially while juggling motherhood and running a home.
Finding balance has probably been one of my biggest struggles. I’m a wife and a mom of three little ones, so learning how to manage family life while growing a business that often requires long hours, travel, and early mornings has taken a lot of grace and adjustment.
Every challenge has taught me something, patience, perseverance, and confidence in my own creativity. And looking back, even the hard parts have shaped the business (and person) I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create custom balloon garlands, backdrops, and event setups for all kinds of celebrations, birthdays, baby showers, weddings, business events, you name it!

What I love most about what I do is getting to take someone’s vision, sometimes it’s just a small idea or a color palette and turning it into something beautiful and unforgettable. I’m all about the details and making each setup feel personal and special. Every balloon is placed with intention, and every backdrop is designed to fit the vibe of the celebration.

I think what sets me apart is the heart I put into my work. I truly care about each client and treat every event like it’s my own. I don’t just show up, decorate, and leave, I take the time to make sure everything feels just right. My goal is always to make people smile, to help them feel celebrated, and to create a setup that photographs beautifully but also feels warm and full of joy in person.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come and how much my little business has grown. What started as a creative outlet has turned into something that supports my family and connects me with my community. Seeing people tag me in photos from their events, or hearing how much their guests loved the setup, that’s the best feeling in the world.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is how special my mom always made our birthdays feel. She had this amazing way of turning even the simplest celebration into something magical. Whether it was homemade decorations, a themed cake, or just the excitement she created around the day, she always made sure we felt seen, loved, and celebrated.

Those memories have stuck with me my entire life. Now, as a mom myself and the owner of Kay’s Parties, I realize just how much those moments shaped me. My mom showed me that celebrating someone doesn’t have to be about how big or fancy the party is, it’s about the thought, creativity, and love behind it. That’s exactly what I try to bring into every setup I create today.
