Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordine Lawrence.
Hi jordine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my photography journey 3 years ago when I moved to Texas from western WA. I grew up on a horse ranch and have always romanticized the Cowboy way of life. moving to Texas has given me the agility to express my artistic talents and show the world how incredible cowboy/Texas heritage is. I watched my grandparents build a world champion ranch from nothing and show the world that little dairy farmers could create something generational. I strive to capture that and do it for myself through my art.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
moving across the country and not knowing a soul will definitely show you if you’ve got people skills or not. Luckily for me, southern hospitality is still alive. I had incredible women who I met here and we would do styled shoots and promote one another. honestly the girls supporting girls is what allowed my business to flourish. because if that i will always strive to make women feel empowered and captured for what they are beautiful, powerful, and worthy of being captured
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would say I am know for western photography. I capture working ranch days, families, couples, and everything in between. I am beginning to be known as a wedding photographer. I have become a love story preserver. I find many western lifestyle enthusiasts have a hard time connecting eith a photographer that values their lifestyle and the brand they have built their life upon, so I’d like to help those people capture their wedding day in a way that feels genuine
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
moving across the country was a huge risk! let’s be honest, just choosing a creative career is a risk. if that wasn’t enough, I lay down in front of galloping horses and climb into branding pins with thousands of dollars of equipment. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease the beginning of my photography journey and to be honest that changed alot for me. I wanted to pursue joy and art if I was going to have a limited time my body would allow it, so ill risk it all while I can.
Pricing:
- wedding packages from 1200-3500. I wanted it to be financial possible for ranch workers and owners to afford me. I think every love story is unique and deserves to be captured is that means I have to make less than so be it.
- family session $375 for a lifetime keepsakes of your baby’s at their current age and the animals that won’t always be with us for the family photos
- couples $300 I don’t up charge for an engagement session or a maternity shoot. any couple for any purpose is still $300 no special occasion up charge
- $150 for ranch lifestyle photography. this is my cheapest rate because it’s what I love to do. It’d a privilege to preserve hermitage and I want to be reasonably enough priced that I can be there for a working ranch days to catch the roping, branding, driving, and everything in between
