Today we’d like to introduce you to Gavin Adamson.
Hi Gavin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
The condensed version of the story- I worked for the company part-time in college to make some extra money, once I started my full-time career, I left the company. About 2 years later, they asked me to come back to help out, ended up taking over as manager.
Shortly after taking over as manager, the company was bought out by Trolley Pub. They didn’t have anyone in the company living in Texas, let alone San Antonio so they offered me the position to run the whole thing. Since I’ve taken over, we have been number one in the company in almost every category. With the success we’ve had, we’ve decided to start expanding by getting or the second bike in just a couple of weeks and plan on expanding even more over the coming year.
I also have my own personal training and nutrition coaching business that I started a few years back, I also sell my art as well but pretty the focus is mainly on the party bike.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a fairly smooth process, we’ve definitely had multiple obstacles along the way but ended up just being great learning opportunities. I’ve been managing the company for the better part of two years now, and this being my first management position outside of starting my personal training business, there has been a lot of learning to do but I enjoy coming across obstacles because it allows an opportunity for me to get better.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As mentioned before, I do a few things for work but specifically with Trolley Pub, I do just about everything for the company. From answering customer service calls/emails to hiring on and training new employees, running payroll, and even driving a lot of the actual tours, etc.
I think what sets me apart from others, is the amount of pride I take in providing the best possible customer service experience for any customers across any of my businesses. My number one strength is communication skills and building rapport, that mixed with my love for meeting new people has to lead to a lot of success.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I was the most quiet, shy and reserved person for the first 22 to 23 years of my life. I never wanted to be in charge, the idea of having to talk to strangers absolutely terrified me. I always thought that leading, and communicating were my number one weaknesses growing up, just to find out years later that they are without a doubt, my biggest strengths.
