Today we’d like to introduce you to Fernando Davil.
Hi Fernando, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am the son of a great musician pianist. I was born in Brownsville, Texas and later raised in Saltillo, Mexico. My father got me started in music since the age of 4 doing piano, organ and voice lessons. Started professionally making money in music by the age of 12, performing in restaurants and hotels, also had my first recitals. I have been part of music ensembles like Rondallas, Choirs, Pop Rock band in the 90’s KGB, 10 pianos in concert show, music producer, arranger, and studio musician during the start of 2000s. In 2005 I launch my career as a soloist with the name Fernando Davil and my first independent jazz production Hispanoamerica. Later my first independent albums as pop singer and many others. Move to San Antonio Texas in 2011 where I started my music company ALDIVA Enterprises providing music to corporate and private events. Also, my music piano academy AMUA focusing in training new youth pianists. In 2020, my family and I create a Mexican restaurant in the middle of the pandemic and consolidated as one of the best restaurants in SA. 2021 we finish the partnership and we continue more focused in the music production and events.
In Feb 2022 we open our new family business SNAXS, our first location in Spring Branch Texas coffee, bakery and snacks shop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hahahahha Of course many obstacles, sweating, blood tears and many, many, many hours of DIY learning and working hours.
One of the most learning experiences was the creation of the restaurant. Trying to inspire the team and public during the pandemic. Also, when we had to say goodbye and receive go through a lawsuit.
Working as a self-employed, independent musician; being a father and husband and balancing your life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love music because it’s just part of me and it flows naturally. Having the pleasure to grow around great musicians and music productions is a great legacy. Obviously, I am first a music artist but I have learned to develop other trades along the way. Creating a company, marketing, accounting, creative work, networking, hustling, raising capital, human resources, etc. I am very proud of all my music projects, my family, my students, my network, my friends and our brand creations.
I’m a chameleon, versatile and I will put my full self devoted to what I commit to doing.
I do 110% when needed.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing my sons grow and my wife every day on my side is my principal source of energy. Being able to wake up and be healthy gives me tremendous joy since I am able to live another day and deliver to the people that follow my work and concepts.
