Today we’d like to introduce you to Crossways.3000.
Hello Crossways.3000, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2014 my junior year of high school, Crossways was formed to compete in a high school battle of the bands; after losing the competition, we still decided to continue with the project. During that era, we were just kids trying to navigate the music scene; we didn’t care if we were getting paid or if people even showed up to gigs. We just wanted to play our music and learn as much as possible. We recorded our first EP, “I Shall Seep In Peace Until You Come To Me,” and released it in 2017. That era of the band ended a few months after that release. We had broken up and decided to go our separate ways. A few years passed, and we regrouped with the core members (Daniel Reyes, Christian Gonzalez, and Jaime Chavez) and played our first show in October of 2021. We were working on our new sound and style and changed the band name to Crossways.3000. We wrote and recorded our new LP, “You Will Be Received,” and released it in 2023. Since then, we’ve seen much growth in the band and reached milestones we thought we would never see.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge any band faces is finding members who all want the same thing. We’ve been fortunate enough to have an excellent team that genuinely cares about the vision and goals of the band. There’s always room for improvement, whether in our personal lives or the band itself, but we always try to make it work out any way we can. As long as you have genuine love and passion for the music, you’d be willing to push through all the bullshit that comes with pursuing music. Many challenges come with wanting to pursue music; it can affect personal relationships, family, and even the band’s friendship. But being willing to work things out always seems to be worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
We are an independent band; much of our work has always been DIY. We self-produce our music, edit and film our music videos, and book our shows. We are proud of many achievements, but our proudest achievement has to be our latest record; we love the songs we wrote and couldn’t be more happy with the album we made. It has opened many doors for us, and we are grateful to everyone who has checked it out and spread the word.
