Hi Callie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Move Club San Antonio began in September 2024, inspired by the work Xavier and I did together at a nonprofit where we promoted wellness. While supporting families in achieving food security, we also saw a need for accessible physical activity and mental health support in our community. This realization led us to create Move Club San Antonio, a space for people of all fitness levels to come together, stay active, and find support for their mental well-being.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our journey has had its challenges. The biggest hurdle has been establishing our presence within the community and building a network of members and sponsors. It’s been a process of learning and growth as we work to make our mission known and build a lasting impact in San Antonio.

Move Club San Antonio is a nonprofit focused on promoting physical activity across San Antonio, with a unique emphasis on mental health. Unlike other athletic clubs, we encourage people of all fitness levels to join and participate. Currently, we meet once a month for a Saturday morning walk or run along the River Walk. We’re planning to expand our activities to include health and wellness classes and biking, hiking, and boot camps, providing even more opportunities for the community to stay active and connected.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Xavier and I both strongly believe in the power of a positive mindset. While luck may play a part in any journey, we feel that our attitude has been crucial to our progress. We believe in putting positive energy into the universe, trusting that things will unfold as they’re meant to. This belief has helped us remain focused and motivated as we build Move Club San Antonio.
