Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan Shively.
Hi Dylan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Pennsylvania and moved to San Antonio in July of 2020 with my wife and kids. James Warren Group started back in 2017 and was established shortly after I personally had a financial rough time that affected my credit pretty bad. After hiring a company that promised the world, didn’t deliver and also barely ever communicated with me to let me know what was going on, I decided to learn everything I possibly could to try to get it done myself.
After months of learning everything that I could I was able to fix my own credit. Being a pretty active user of social media and proud of my accomplishment, I posted about my results. From there I was getting flooded with messages for people asking for help with their credit.
At the time I was an owner of a Verizon store and the amount of people who would reach out to me daily asking for help with their credit would increase more and more. I never really realized how many people needed help too.
Fast forward to today and we have helped over 5,000 families become homeowners, buy new & reliable cars, learn more about how credit works and how they can leverage it to their benefit. I employ officially 38 of the best people I’ve ever met, had my wife quit her job of 12 years at the bank to work the business with me, and also employ my mom who was in the medical field for 15 years.
We are a family/Veteran owned business who together want to serve everyone and anyone who wants to not just get their credit repaired, but also wants to get further educated on how credit works so they can improve the overall quality of their lifestyle.
James Warren Group wouldn’t be who we are today if it wasn’t for the amazing employees we have that take the extra time to assist our clients. They go above and beyond daily in many ways and I am forever grateful for each and every one of them.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely was not a smooth road. Honestly, I don’t think it’s supposed to be. In my opinion, you have to go through the rough times in order to get some smooth patches in your road. The beginning is always the roughest because usually you’re in that rough place and are making a choice from it. You’re looking for a change because you’re tired of the rough patches.
For me, some of the struggles along the way was figuring out our systems and processes. Making sure we are fairly priced, how to gauge that we are doing everything we absolutely can, understanding that algorithms of how credit works, and how to have clients trust us when we were starting in the beginning with no reviews in no testimonials besides my own personal self.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
James Warren group is a credit education and repair company that specializes in serving anybody and everybody that is looking to make a change in their life. We believe that somebody with a 450 credit score in a 750 credit score live two completely different lifestyles and it is our moral obligation to give everything we got to help our clients get to experience the other side.
We are known for doing the right thing, our ability to not just get great results but also to communicate consistently and effectively, and overall set the proper expectations.
I personally believe what makes us different is that this is the only thing we do. We understand that if we try to give anything less than all that we’ve got then we are failing everyone who trust us to help them. We are not in the business of not getting the job done and not helping people. This is what we do every single day and our focus on serving others who trust us never gets taken away by any other projects or businesses.
What I am most proud of is again my staff for representing our brand the way I have always visioned it. I get to talk about why I chose the name James Warren Group almost daily and the response I get from it is better than I ever imagined. Simply put my middle name is James and my grandfather’s name is Warren and I knew eventually I would grow the business to be big enough that it would require a group effort and that’s how I put the name together back in 2017. Every time someone says “I thought your name was Dylan who is James” I get to tell them the story in honor of my grandfather’s legacy.

Something surprising most people may not know about me is the amount of hours that I still put into the business every single day. Even though I have a pretty big staff, I still make sure that every single day I am actively participating in each one of our company roles to make sure when training my staff I am coaching them from a position of still actively practicing their role. I feel that it is important to lead from example and know what’s happening in the Business.
