Exploring Life & Business with RE Solutions XV

Today we’d like to introduce you to RE Solutions XV. 

Hello RE Solutions XV, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
While on Active Duty and getting ready to retire, the thought of becoming a REALTOR came to mind. I am not sure where that came from as I never considered myself a “salesperson” but that is what I did right before I retired from the Air Force.

I thought I was going to get into residential sales but ended up teaming up with an old friend and started growing a property management company. As I was working, I noticed my wife coming home frustrated and overworked from being a teacher and kept telling her to become a REALTOR. She got her license two years after me in 2014. She went directly into residential sales and has been growing her database ever since. 

When we were stationed here in San Antonio, for the very first time in 2000, we met our lifelong friends, the Alfaro’s. We were neighbors, and with my busy schedule as an Air Force Military Training Instructor, they helped my wife Denise, and we became our own little tribe. Pompi and Belinda were both active-duty Air Force as well and that made things so much easier. They ended up moving away to another base, and we did as well, but we still kept in touch. 

Denise and I eventually moved back to San Antonio, and so did the Alfaro’s. I was already retired and in real estate when Pompi got back to San Antonio, and he ended up doing two more years of service before retiring. He was not sure what he wanted to do but he knew he wanted to help people. He tried to continue doing the job he had in the Air Force as a physical therapy tech but found it was not the same in the civilian sector. He also tried to do medical sales, and that did not work out either. I eventually convinced him to join me in real estate, and he joined our property management team in 2018. 

His wife Belinda was also a teacher at the time, and she was getting frustrated at her job and all the red tape. She loved being a teacher but did not like all the “politics” around it. We eventually convinced her to get her license in 2019. 

In 2021, all four of us broke off from our old team and brokerage and founded our own company. RE Solutions XV.

After over 20 years of friendship, we decided to take our skills and knowledge from the military, education, and real estate to create our company and help people find solutions for their real estate needs. We strongly believe in education and providing information to those that do not know the ins and outs of real estate. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have completed our first year as a business, and even though we have been blessed, we continue to work hard to grow our business and find more clients to help.

We do not necessarily consider it a struggle as we are experiencing the natural path of business growth, but we are passionate about helping people. The struggle is convincing people that we are here to help and educate… not just to get a commission check. 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a residential real estate and property management company. We help clients buy and sell residential real estate as well as manage rental properties. In my last team, we managed over 500 properties, and we love to help people maintain their investment portfolios.

On top of that, we love to educate people by doing seminars on the home buying and selling process, as well as educating landlords on the right way to self-manage their properties. That’s the thing; we provide information from our years of experience.

We do not push people to use our services; if they do then that is great, but the main thing is to educate people.
