Today we’d like to introduce you to Karine Gomez.
Karine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Montreal, Canada.
I’m a former synchronized swimmer.
I was on the Canadian National Team and did the Junior World Championships in Moscow in 1997. After I joined Cirque du Soleil for the creation of the show O as a synchronized swimmer.
In 1999 I got a contract in a water show. Called Crescend’O in Disneyland Paris. For this show I was trained in aerial arts, fire breathing bungees, juggling, acting and synchronized swimming.
When the show ended I was offered a position as a trapezist in a Disney Show as well as a synchronized swimming aerialist and stunt show in a famous theme park near Paris called Parc Asterix.
I was also part of the company Les Farfadais and toured with Holiday on Ice all around Europe doing aerial silks in the show. I was also doing events all over France, Europe and in Africa.
In 2010 I had the opportunity to be stunt double of the main character, Zoe Saldana in the movie Colombiana.
In 2011 I was offered a position in the water show Azul, at Sea World San Antonio. I was the synchronized swimming captain and aerialist. I met my husband in the Azul show, he was a diver on the Mexican National Team.
In 2015 I became a mom, and took few months off to take care of my new born as well as getting back in shape.
With my husband, Saul Gomez we founded Aqua Acro Entertainment LLC in 2016. We started with only water and aerial entertainment. Year after year we added more disciplines like fire, roaming characters, stilt walking, contortion, mimes, and more.
I learned how to make costumes, contracts, invoices, and everything else as a business owner.
In 2019 we mover to Mexico and we produced the show Los 4 Elementos in Acapulco, México.
We are back in San Antonio since 2022 and Aqua Acro has expanded a lot.
We now have about a hundred events per year and 25 people working with us. We do birthday parties, quinceañera, weddings, corporate events, grand opening ceremonies and more. We travel all over Texas.
We also have a residency with Elsewhere where you can see our performers every Fridays and Saturdays. Since the Beginning of October we have our second residency at Elsewhere Too, a brand new location with a Ferris wheel, we are beyond excited to be part of this amazing project.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the show business there’s always moment of doubts but generally it’s been a great experience

Aqua Acro is World class entertainment company. We have Aerialists, Fire artists, LED hoops, Mermaids, Stiltwalkers, Acro Mimes, Showgirls, synchronized swimmers, dancers and more!
We do birthday parties, quinceañera, weddings, corporate events, grand opening ceremonies and more. We travel all over Texas.

We lessen to the clients expectations and work with them to make their vision become reality.
We have hundreds of costumes and we constantly add new ones. We also make custom requests.
I am proud of my team. Without them there’s no Aqua Acro. The relationship I built with everyone in my team is very important to me.
What makes you happy?
Spending time with my family and my friends.
Life is short and everything goes so fast so I try to enjoy every moment, every day!
Traveling is also a big part of my life and it makes me happy. I’ve been in over 30 countries.
