Hi Debra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Pinky’s was founded not only out of our deep love for all furry companions but also to support our son in his journey toward normalcy. Axel faces challenges due to his diagnoses of Autism, ODD, and Sensory Processing Disorders. Through Pinky’s, we provide the essential medical care and therapies he needs, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA, and speech services. Over the years, these interventions have enabled him to accomplish everyday tasks like eating solid foods, communicating, running, playing, engaging socially, and even enjoying family vacations. We are incredibly grateful to our customers, as each booking contributes to Axel’s pursuit of a more typical life. Axel adores animals and affectionately refers to Pinky’s as “His Pet Resort,” and indeed, this endeavor is all for him!
When we launched Pinky’s, we began with a single building and a yard. By our second year, we expanded to two dog buildings and five yards, and by the third year, we added a cat building, bringing our total to two dog buildings and seven yards. Our mission extends beyond boarding dogs and cats; we actively contribute to the community by fostering and rehabilitating dogs. Collaborating with three rescue organizations, we dedicate cabins for rescue dogs and emphasize the importance of spaying and nurturing pets. We adopt a holistic approach to pet care, ensuring that our impact reaches far beyond our immediate responsibilities. Additionally, as parents of a child on the spectrum, we share our experiences to help educate families navigating special education, offering valuable tips and insights. Our passion and commitment resonate deeply, extending our love and support to both animals and families in need.
