Community Highlights: Meet Heather Mutz of Homestead and Ranch Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Mutz.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was working as a Home Economics teacher when I decided I wanted to pursue a career in real estate. I always had a passion for homes and people and knew it was my calling. As a mom of 3 daughters, it has been my goal to show my girls that they can do anything!!

I taught and did real estate for the first year and then dove in full force! I fell in love. I worked for a small-town local broker for a couple of years before joining a team in San Antonio. Both were fantastic stepping stones for me. I then decided to join an amazing brokerage and pursue my broker’s license.

I’ve now been with Homestead and Ranch for almost 3 years and have had my broker’s license for almost the same amount of time. I absolutely love this brokerage and all of my fellow agents I work with. I am versed in residential, farm and ranch, commercial and luxury real estate, and love learning new things daily!!

I have gone from 2Million in volume a year to this year I’m projected to surpass 20 million. God is good. I pray and I hustle!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been some stressful times. Every time I made a decision to make a career move it was so tough. You know in your gut what you need to do but it’s like breaking up with a boyfriend! It’s hard to do.

I would not be where I am had I not taken the risks I’ve taken. I spend a ton of money on marketing and have an amazing team behind me. All of those small decisions I did not take lightly and it was for sure scary at times. You hope the benefit outweighs the cost!!

I have three daughters and it’s been a struggle at times schedule-wise. As a single mom sometimes I load the girls up and take them with me if I don’t have child care. Luckily, my clients are so fantastic and understanding!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Homestead and Ranch Real Estate?
I’m with a brokerage that specializes in land and luxury but we do a little bit of everything!!

I have a fantastic team of 4 under me that I mentor and love working with. My team is in Medina County but we work in surrounding counties as well. We are known for our amazing marketing and cutting-edge philosophies.

I feel completely at home with the group that I’m with. I love being a Broker Associate with Homestead and Ranch Real Estate.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Always always always do the right thing. Integrity goes a long way. I tell my team when it’s not about the money, but about your client- they feel it and there’s not a problem we can’t solve or make right.

We do the right thing, no matter what. We give, we spoil our clients, we spend money to market our listings, and we don’t just stick a sign in a yard.
