Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Ray Dinschel
Hi Faith, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After 15 years of being in the Insurance industry with the same company I finally turned my “little hobby’ into a business. This all unfolded during the pandemic, after 1 year of being a stay at home mom to two under two and living out of state away from immediate family and friends. I had a choice to go back to another insurance company or pick up my camera and do what I always dreamed but never thought would happen, a full time photographer. A Boudoir Photographer. I started this journey in Mchenry Illinois and when my husband was asked to move back to texas to be closer to his team I knew this was going to be the new beginning of my boudoir studio. Fast forward to today I am two years into having a fully furnished home studio with a full walk in closet for my clients along with a hair and make-up station for HMUAs. It has been go go go since the day I had my first paying client. I have currently shot about 160 clients in my studio. San Antonio has been very good to me and my family and I am grateful everyday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggle between wanting to be the most available mom to wanting to be the most available photographer. My children will always come first so it’s up to me to maintain the work/life balance.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time Boudoir Photographer with a fully furnished home studio that is on the second story of my house. My aesthetic is dark and moody and invite all women to do a Boudoir shoot. From the single independent woman to the bride- to-be. From the recently divorced to the ones celebrating over 20 years of marriage. Boudoir is for all women. A gift for your spouse and/or yourself.
I provide everything involved in the process: two staged studio rooms, a spot-light wall, a built-in swing set, over 100 lingerie outfit choices, shoes, accessories, props, professional hair & make-up, full head-to-toe posing guidance, a vintage bathtub, an outdoor shower, and a large inground pool right in my backyard.
Fast editing turn around time frame averaging 2 weeks and product time frame of 3 weeks.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Stay professional and pay very close attention to every client’s goal. Not every client wants a super sexy look and not every client wants a classy look. Pay attention, and execute each goal differently.
