Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Murrah
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I spent 25 years as a dedicated teacher, but a fateful Saturday morning changed everything. While driving, my husband and I spotted a poop-scooping company truck. Jokingly, I suggested I could do that and be happier. To my surprise, he agreed!
That casual conversation sparked a profound realization: it was time for a new chapter. Despite my initial uncertainty, an unexpected opportunity presented itself. I received an email from Todd Durkin, a renowned life coach I had met a year earlier, inviting me to join his certification program.
Intrigued, I applied and quickly discovered my passion for life coaching. It was a perfect fit for my desire to make a positive impact. However, financial constraints posed a challenge. But as fate would have it, my school district announced a $2500 retention bonus, providing the exact funding I needed.
With newfound determination, I immersed myself in the program. Coaching others, and receiving coaching myself, I discovered a profound sense of purpose. This was more than a side hustle; it was my calling.
In May, the school district announced that the last day to resign from the district was on July 5th. Wouldn’t you know
that that was my birthday? I looked up and said, “Okay God, I hear you.” At that point, I stepped away from what wasn’t serving me and stepped into serving others!
I AM a Todd Durkin Certified IMPACT Life Coach!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While I’m incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic support system, starting a new business is never without its challenges.
The biggest hurdle was stepping away from the only career I’d ever known. After 25 years of teaching, I took a leap of faith and traded classrooms for coaching. It was a heart-pounding decision, but one I haven’t regretted.
Another challenge has been navigating the digital world. As an old-school, in-person kind of person, social media has been a bit of a learning curve. Creating reels has been a trial-and-error process, but I’m determined to master it.
I know there will be more obstacles ahead, but with a little grit and the support of my amazing community, I’m confident I can overcome anything

As a mom of triplets, I have been life coaching for 17 years without realizing it! That’s not a surprising thing though. What is surprising, is that my triplets consist of a set of twins from a previous marriage, and a stepdaughter who was born on the same day as my twins, in the same hospital, long before my current husband and I met. We are truly a unique family!
