Meet Tiffany Lewis of West San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Lewis

Hi Tiffany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started when I was a kid, actually. I remember running around with a little film camera that printed these fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle images in the corner of each photo. It was something so simple, but it sparked this incredible fascination with photography. Back then, it was just about capturing moments—my pets, my friends, whatever caught my eye.
But as I grew up, that spark never faded. In fact, it only grew stronger. Photography became my escape, a way to find peace and document the beauty I see around me every day. Over time, I traded in those disposable cameras for something a bit more advanced and started exploring the world through my lens. I went from snapping pictures of everyday scenes to capturing stunning sites across the globe—and even working with local models.
What began as a childhood hobby has now blossomed into a full-fledged business, but that original passion is still very much alive. I still see the world with the same sense of wonder, always looking for the next shot worth capturing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For most, obstacles are part of the journey. For me, I think the biggest challenge has been myself. Finding confidence in my work and even allowing myself to embrace the title of “photographer” took decades. It’s funny, because when you’re passionate about something, you can be your own harshest critic.
But I’ve had incredible support along the way. My husband has been a huge source of encouragement. Whenever I doubted myself or hesitated to take that next step, he was there, pushing me forward. It’s that belief in me that’s helped me overcome those insecurities and really start to expand my skills.
It’s been a journey of growth, both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for the people who’ve helped me see what I’m capable of.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I started out by photographing the things around me—animals, nature, buildings—anything that stayed still long enough for me to really take my time and find the perfect shot. There’s something incredibly satisfying about discovering beauty in the everyday, in things people often overlook as they go about their lives. That’s where I found my joy and the logo I use (Urban Forest Photography) captures the essence of my work as a whole.
As my business grew, though, I began stepping outside of my comfort zone. I started working with models and families, which was a whole new experience for me. It was challenging at first, but it’s been such a rewarding learning process. There’s a different kind of magic in capturing a moment with people, something unique that you can’t always plan for. I don’t do the standard glossy studio portraits, but I do freeze time and evoke emotion that is once in a lifetime.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’m not really one to credit luck with where I am today. I’ve worked incredibly hard to get here, both in my personal life and in my business. Of course, it would be amazing to have that “big break” that propels my career to the next level, but I don’t believe in waiting around for it to happen.
In the meantime, I’m fully immersed in what I do. I’m building connections with other creatives, expanding my network, and, most importantly, doing what I love every single day. Whether or not that leads to traditional success, I find fulfillment in the work itself.
