Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Miliuta.
Hi Olga, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Belcanto Music School was established in 2022 to provide music lessons for children and adults. We do piano and voice lessons in all styles and levels, pre-k music lessons, and music therapy. Very Soon, we are planning to start providing guitar lessons for beginners. I started with just a few students and also did volunteer lessons for people who couldn’t afford the price in private schools. The main goal was to show people the beauty of music, which has different aspects of learning.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road is smoother if you start from the very beginning. I needed a place to have my necessary equipment and students. At first, I just went to my student’s houses. Later, we bought a trailer and rebuilt it as a studio on the wheels. It was fun! As long as we were growing, there was no longer enough space because people spread the word. So now I have a real studio with a room and even a little stage for better practice.
Thanks for sharing that. So, tell us more about your work next.
I am an opera singer and piano player myself. Also, recently, I became a part of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra guild. Also, I am part of the Texas National Music Teachers Association. I am very proud to say this because these affiliates help us give more opportunities to people studying music, taking just the first steps in music, and are advanced musicians. At Belcanto Music Studio, where I am an owner and operator, we provide music education for pre-K kids, students, and adults. We participate in music festivals and competitions and attend local recitals at least four times yearly. We are swamped and have a lot of fun. Our students have won over 40 certificates and medals this academic year at various music festivals.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
For my and everyone’s success, the most essential characteristic is never to give up, keep doing, and follow your dream!
