Community Highlights: Meet Jamie Cano of A Timeless Soirée

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I have been in the corporate world for over 10 years, supporting corporate-driven events and planning and executing them on my business side. I loved the event planning portion of my job and knew that I one day wanted to br more involved with them. I fell into wedding like how many of us do—while planning my own. I had the most fantastic time planning my destination wedding! The organization, adaptability and constant communication fueled my passion further and pushed me to provide this service to others, so in 2019, I jumped into this wedding planning world and joined a company in Austin. Each wedding I worked felt so special, so fulfilling, and I knew it was the right place for me. My husband and I welcomed our first son in 2021 and we knew our time in Austin was coming to an end. After a year of focusing on my family, I was introduced to weddings again in the San Antonio area, and it was like a rush of excitement all over again. This drove me to take the leap and launch A Timeless Soirée in March 2023. With my husband’s support, this amazing company was born and my era of supporting couples on their beautiful day had started. I couldn’t be prouder of my company and our work.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?Definitely not all a smooth way. 2020 presented challenges when the industry halted. Planners and all vendors had to navigate a world where parties and festivities were few and far between and those weddings that continued just looked very different. As the industry began picking back up in the latter half of 2021, I had just welcomed my first baby, and with the after-effects of COVID-19 on the childcare industry, I switched my focus to prioritizing my family over planning events. There were some times I just had to put my passion on pause and know I would revisit again.

I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about A Timeless Soirée?
A Timeless Soirée is a wedding and events planning and design company. We are a mighty team of three with a passion to plan, design, and coordinate the absolute dream wedding for our clients. Our focus is our client relationship, and we make sure that we honor that above anything else. Our brand is simple: Some people have weddings, others have A Timeless Soirée. When a client hires us, they don’t just hire a wedding planning company; they hire a company prepared to elevate and execute their visionary event. My team is phenomenal and is what makes us so great. My husband, Joe, helps with logistics, day of operations, and set up/take down. Kyara Garcia is my right-hand woman, taking charge and helping things run perfectly.

Please talk to us about happiness and what makes you happy.
This one is easy: my family and my supportive group of friends. My kids and husband are my world and bring so much light to my life. We smile, laugh, and do everything together. That love is infectious and truly makes me happy. We also have a very supportive family nearby who truly wants this company to succeed and encourages us each day on this path. They’re quick to volunteer spending the day with our babies so we can go rock a dream wedding for our clients. I have friends who have been my best friends for years. They’re the kind that you consider family, the ones I introduce to my kids as “Aunt” because that’s how they treat them. And lastly, I’d like to add our passion for traveling. I’m from Puerto Rico, and my husband’s roots are from Mexico. We love to travel, especially to beaches, with our ultimate favorite destination being Puerto Rico. It makes us so happy to fill our children’s lives with culture, travel, and being surrounded by their family.
