Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Broughton.

Paul Broughton

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I was attending the University of Houston back in 1990. I came across a posting for a paid intern position for a private equity investment firm, so I applied and was offered the position. As I was finishing college, I worked for American Express Financial Advisors from 1997 through 1999. After GE Capital recruited my services starting in September 1999 and lasting through 2011. Gifted advisors and leadership surrounded me during my tenure at GE Capital. I blossomed under greatness and built a Top 10 financial advisory under GE Capital. In March 2012, I formed the Broughton Investment Group, a fiduciary for our clients. During this time, I completed my Master of Science in Finance in July 2015. All the while, I was a Deacon in the Orthodox Lutheran Church in the Catholic faith. Also worth noting, I was a session drummer for various rock and country acts. Sept 2017, I moved to Mico, Texas, and was met by Josh Schibi on May 4, 2022, and recruited to join REB JACOBS BAND, a musical genre surrounding music similar to AC/DC, Dire Straits, the Cult, to name a few. Our music is 100% original and hard-hitting.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s always a challenging road. There are always obstacles and challenges. Various items always come up in this thing we call life too many to list.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional drummer for REB JACOBS BAND, with our studio parked in a basement studio in Mico, Texas, neat Medina Lake. I am best known for hard-hitting, consistent beat and craziness like Animal from the Puppets show. I leave everything I have on the stage: blood, sweat, and soul. This is my passion: feeding my soul, mind, and body.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I take risks daily. Life is meant to be lived, not just survived. I live life to its fullest, which means I must take risks often to move forward. Taking risks is paramount, but they must be measured risks.
