Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Acevedo.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. I came to the United States very young, raised in Southern Indiana. I had the opportunity of obtaining a Cosmetology license during high school, which allowed me to enter the work field as soon as I graduated. I am very grateful for the four years I dedicated to the beauty industry for many rewarding reasons. The satisfaction of beautifying a person and seeing their confidence rise instantly is fantastic. By creating ADAE Boutique, I stepped into a brand-new industry. But, the experience has felt just as rewarding. The opportunity of creating a brand with a variety of pieces for others to enjoy is unique. There has been a tremendous amount of support received since launching the brand. I am entirely thankful for the new connections created during this journey. The most rewarding feeling is seeing others beautifully wear each piece and truly enjoy it. Despite being a part of two different industries, the goal of boosting someone’s confidence stands in both. I firmly believe in empowering others, as we all try our best daily.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entering a new industry seemed much easier than it truly has been. Initially, there were long hours of research on how to begin and what would come next. Taking on the risk of entrepreneurship comes with many different tasks. To list a few, managing finances, inventory, and a website. You need to have experts in all areas to be a one-person show. I am grateful for the learning process because I know that is something we all have to go through. The struggles teach us patience and determination. Along with my struggles, remembering the “WHY” always motivates me. During the tough moments, always remember why you started and keep moving forward.

ADAE Boutique is a women’s trendy and inclusive brand. You will find the perfect dress for brunch on the weekend. Along with the accessories to rock the outfit with. ADAE is a colorful and inviting brand. I aspire for ADAE to be a place where anyone can feel welcomed and confident. Yes, it has all of the cute tops perfect for you! But we care about each connection created. A rewarding feeling for us is seeing you confidently wear a piece to a special occasion. ADAE is a part of all the great events around San Antonio. Each pop-up shop is an opportunity to meet a new face and learn more about our community. The connections made online are also very special. I stand for motivating others to be the best version of themselves. It is important to empower each other and boost confidence. ADAE stands out because it is a genuine and welcoming brand that will always allow people to feel their best. I want any person to know that they are always welcome here.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Being one of many that lost a loved one during the crisis, it has come with important lessons. It has taught me courage and gratitude. The pandemic was a time when our everyday routines were paused. We get accustomed to always being on the go. Therefore we did not know to react to that hold. Coming out of that crisis, I realized how important it is to take risks. I no longer cared about any judgment regarding the things I enjoy. Nothing is promised in this world. Therefore nobody should hold back from being their true selves. The loss in our family taught us to spread kindness and truly value our blessings. I am grateful for every meal, opportunity, and loved one daily. Each person has a purpose, and we should feel we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.
