Hi Obinna; thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated from New York University College of Dentistry some years ago. Then I completed a General Practice residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, following which I went into private practice with several corporate organizations. Within a few years, the desire to expand my scope of practice increased, which led my wife and I to pursue our private practice. In December 2020, during the COVID pandemic, we opened the doors of Calm Spring Dental in the beautiful city of San Antonio. Serving a pleasantly diverse and welcoming community like ours has been a blessing.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
As is expected with a new privately owned practice, some initial challenges we faced included time management and task delegation. We have since developed and tailored our business model to suit our practice needs.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a General Dentist and the owner of Calm Spring Dental. My scope of practice widely varies. It encompasses every area of Dentistry- from cleanings, fillings, and teeth whitening to root canals, implants, Invisalign, dentures, crowns, bridges, oral surgery, and everything in between. We accept most insurances and work well with patients of all ages, especially those with Dental anxiety. Our patients are endeared to us for the excellent and unique care we provide them in a truly calming and professional setting. They have rendered unsolicited testimonials of their experiences at Calm Spring Dental, and we are truly grateful to God for this.
Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
I am staying connected with other local Dentists and taking advantage of professional meetings.
