Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Stringfield.
Hi Devin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, and grew up on the city’s north side, with high crime rates. This environment helped form my desire to help in any way I could, and from a young age, I decided to become a policeman shortly after graduating high school. That’s exactly what I did when I joined the US Air Force. For the next 10 and a half years, I served my country worldwide and did what I always dreamed. I will be separating from the military this June with an honorable discharge. I appreciate the lessons the military taught and the opportunities it afforded me. One of these opportunities was the ability to buy my first home at the age of 21; this was my initial foray into real estate. As I decided it was time for me to move on from my time in the military, I knew I still had the desire to work in a profession that fulfilled my desire to help and serve those around me. As a real estate agent, that is exactly what I do. My services strictly revolve around learning a person’s needs and their family’s needs and ultimately matching those items with their desires to help them get the home of their dreams. My greatest joy in this profession is truly getting to know all the different types of people out there and navigating them through making the biggest purchase of their lives.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
It has been a challenging road, which I am proud of. We all learn best through life lessons and what happens when things don’t go how we expect them to. When I bought my first home, my credit was not where it needed to be, and I was fortunate enough to have an agent guide me to get to where I needed to be. When I have clients in similar positions, I assure them I understand exactly where they are coming from.
We’ve been impressed with Keller Williams Heritage, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart?
I am with Keller Williams Heritage in San Antonio, one of the market centers under the Keller Williams umbrella. Keller Williams is the largest real estate company in the world, and the Heritage office is number one in the entire company. There are well over 1200+ agents and 40+ staff members, and you wouldn’t even realize that because of the family-like and positive culture of the organization. It is an amazing place to be part of, and the focus on continuously developing the agents into their best selves is inspiring. I specialize in residential real estate and apartment locating, often leading to the former. For me, this makes the connection that much more personal as you watch a person or family grow from renting to owning their property, and I’m so blessed to be a part of that. What sets me apart from others is my care. People, in general, are my passion. I volunteer a lot of my time with a local organization, Helping Hands of Southeast San Antonio (H2S2), whose purpose is strengthening the community from within. Much of that boils down to meeting people who they are helping to elevate them to wherever they would like to be. I bring that same energy daily and to every single client at work.
Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m reading Think Rich and Grow Rich and listening to the audiobook version of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent. It’s super important to work on self-development to prevent getting complacent in life, and these two books are helping me keep that focus.
