Meet Laura Daniels of Care Advocates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Daniels.

Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Laura Daniels. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years. I have worked caring with our senior population as a clinical case manager in hospitals and in different care settings. I understand transitions in care and the care needs of our older population. I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to serve our seniors and improve their quality of life.

Five years ago, I was inspired by someone very dear to me- Judith. I advocated on her behalf throughout all her care transitions from multiple hospitalization and rehabilitation stays to finally senior placement. I found her a wonderful home in an assisted living community where she lived happily with purpose, friends, and joy. There is no better way to say “I understand this process” than to have gone through it myself, assisting someone I loved. Inspired by Judith I decided to begin my own business, assisting older adults with care transitions, and senior placement.

Today I am inspired every day by the clients and families we serve. I see the positive change and impact we have made in their care and quality of life. I am passionate and committed to every family we assist. I am blessed to be able to embrace my passion and purpose and with it assist others during their care transitions.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge for me is seeing the limited resources available to families caring for a loved one at home. Caregivers play an important role in the well-being of their loved ones. The role of a caregiver is often a family member or several family members, who are typically untrained and unprepared for this role. It can also be difficult for caregivers to care for themselves or find the support they need. This challenge has inspired me to begin a non-profit organization to support and assist those caregivers through resources, education, and support in their homes to better care for their loved ones.

We’ve been impressed with Care Advocates, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart?
I am a registered nurse, clinical case manager, and board-certified patient advocate. I have 30 years of experience in this industry and understand care options and transitions. My team and I are available to assist 24/7. We are passionate, dedicated, and committed to all the families we serve. We guarantee everyone personalized, exceptional, dedicated support for a lifetime. My passion and love for our work has inspired me to create our non-profit organization to support and assist caregivers through resources, education, and support in their homes to better care for their loved ones. We are available anytime, every day. Our services are at no cost to families.

We are passionate about those we serve and are always here to be a resource and provide education, support, and guidance for as long as they need it. Our commitment to each family is not just for the period we assisted. Our commitment is for a lifetime.

What do we specialize in? Care Advocates assist older adults and their families to find the best, most fitting and appropriate living option, when living at home is no longer an option due to a decline in their physical and/or cognitive condition.
