Rising Stars: Meet Abram Estrada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abram Estrada.

Hi Abram, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
HI! I’m Abram aka AXE6 and I’m a 15-year-old music producer and DJ from San Antonio, Texas with over 7 years of experience in the music industry. As far as I can remember, I’ve always been musical. I started taking piano lessons at 5 y/o, DJ’ing at 7, and producing at 10. When I turned 12, I wrote my first official release “Lunatic” and at 13, I officially became the youngest member of One City Music Group (OCMG), a record label out of DFW.

My first self-release was “Lunatic” in July of 2020 and it has over 185K streams on SoundCloud and Spotify! With OCMG, I released “Right There” on October 1, 2021, and “Falling” in February 2022 which are available on all streaming platforms! Right now, I’m working on an EP (dubstep) that’ll drop later this year

I’ve played at TEDx SA, Electric Cookout, Special Olympics of South Texas, Reunion Tower (DFW), Yggdrasil Music Festival (Kansas), Dancefestopia Yellow Brick Road Tour, Paper Tiger, and even opened up for Eddie Money. I’ve also provided support for Nitti Gritti and Madgrrl.

I’m also a resident DJ for Club Fusion on DASH Radio out of California which streams worldwide! My mixes air every Friday & Saturday online at DASHRadio.com/Fusion or on the DASH Radio App. I’ve also been the official event DJ for Whataburger, Big Brothers Big Sisters, SA Zoo, The DoSeum, and Pride SA.

I’ve gotten a few recognitions and done some pretty cool things that I’m proud of! I was named SA Magazine’s Amazing Kid of the month, I’m registered as a writer and publisher with ASCAP, I have my official trademark as a DJ and music producer, and have my own LLC, AXE6Theory. I’ve been featured on KSAT12, KENS5, KRTU, KSYM, WFAA (DFW), Unsigned Hype Radio (Las Vegas), and was the youngest DJ playing on RAVE FM’s online music festival airing from Poland and representing the US!

When I’m not in the studio or performing onstage, I give back to my community. I’m an event DJ for Gabriella’s Smile Foundation (a pediatric brain cancer foundation), Teen Ambassador & Music Instructor for San Antonio Sound Garden, and Junior Volunteer for University Hospital.

As a Latino, I know I have to continue working hard to reach my goals and also inspire others to do the same.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
You have to work hard for what you want. Even though I started chasing my dreams at a young age, I’ve definitely had some tough times in the music industry. There have been times where promoters or event organizers talk a big game and say they want to work on projects but then just ghost me or they switch things up at the last minute.

Sometimes the age thing becomes an obstacle. People think it’s so cool that I’m young but being young sometimes stops them from booking me just because of the kind of venue or crowd events are held in.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a 15 y/o music producer and DJ, I always try to create the best dance beats and keep the party going! I use Ableton Live 11 and have a full studio at home which is cool because I get to write music 24/7. My preferred genre is dubstep but I listen to a bunch of different genres and that definitely helps me during the writing process.

Growing up listening to all kinds of music like grunge and synth-wave has helped me create unique sounds and then I blend them to make one-of-a-kind tracks!

I’ve also taken advanced music theory classes and that helped me teach DJ’ing and music production classes to middle schools kids.I’ve always been told I have a natural ear for music but trust me, the classes helped!

What do you think about luck?
Good or bad luck, I always try to make the best out of the situation! Making music helps me get through the good and bad times.
