Hi Desiree, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I became a wife and a mother, taking pictures helped me freeze the little moments I have with my husband and my kid’s life is beautiful and sometimes I wish I could just stop time and take it all in. I realized taking pictures helps me do just that!
I began to put myself out there and post my work on social media. The amount of support and feedback I’ve gotten has made me realize that this is my gift, this is what I was meant to do! Photography has given me the opportunity to capture these special moments for others and help tell their stories.
I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of my husband Josh. He has been my biggest supporter and plays a huge role in my photography journey. From building and stabilizing backdrops to hauling my equipment around, and being my biggest hype man, he is my employee of the year!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been anything but smooth.
Doubt and fear having tried taking over many times. I’ve had days thinking I wasn’t good enough to do this and I just remember putting so much pressure on myself. Until I realized that I needed to embrace my journey.
The beauty in all this was given this gift to capture others’ stories through my photos. Every photographer has their own style and that’s what makes photography so beautiful and fun. I accepted this is who I am and I love my journey.
I know I have what it takes to keep going and learning new things and my style of photography is what makes me different. I am proud of how far I’ve come, taking risks and going for it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in family, maternity, graduation, engagement, and lifestyle portraits. I love being able to capture special moments for others. I take pride in making my clients feel comfortable and confident during their sessions.
I love that my clients can be their true authentic selves around me and giving them the best experience is what’s most important.
What do you think about luck?
Honestly, it has all been a blessing! God has been so good to me and guiding me through my photography journey. I am forever grateful I was called for this gift. I thank him every day for it.
