Conversations with Chester Moreira

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chester Moreira.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first portrait photoshoot was at 17 years old when a parent asked me to take photos for a birthday portrait.

Over the years, my passion for visual arts grew and photography became my hobby. COVID-19 forced me to utilize my talents with photography to a whole new level. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur but never knew in what direction until then.

I’ve studied the craft of real estate photography and grown my clientele. My purpose now is to bring service and growth to my city.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve always said, “Let your work speak for itself”, so I began with creating video reals to demo.

I was able to be acquainted with a luxury home builder who was looking to start a marketing campaign. With them I took on many projects in the home building process from start to finish, documenting through photos and video.

I saw the opportunity for growth, so start networking with realtors in San Antonio and surrounding areas. It took time, but business has been growing since.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional freelance camera operator for various large production companies from around the nation.

This line of work has taken me to other countries, such as Prague, where I got the chance to work and learn from the local crews. It was an amazing experience.

My unique attention to detail and the strict focus to meet my own personal expectations challenge me every day to be better.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
As a child, my mother would help me dress in the mornings before the school bus came to pick me up.

To wake me up and make sure I was dressed on time, she’d play fight with me as if trying to keep me from finishing getting myself dressed. This only made me want to dress faster, and all the while laughing and enjoying every moment of it, I was determined to win, or so I thought.

Needless to say, my mom had a way of directing me with care and thoughtfulness. She loved me, and she showed it in her own way.
