Meet Aden Stiles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aden Stiles.

Hi Aden, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After growing up in San Antonio and attending Saint Mary’s Hall for high school, I graduated from Baylor in 2009 with an Accounting and Marketing degree. I did not think that I wanted to be a CPA but I knew that I wanted a good education so accounting was the chosen solution. After graduation, I ended up trying a career in Public Relations and soon found that was not meant for me! I was quickly studying for the CPA exam and bouncing at a bar in the evenings. I took my first accounting job in Houston at a Midsized accounting firm doing private company audits.

During my auditing career, I was routinely attending networking events and involved in bringing in new business and recruits even though that was not typically something an employee at my level did. I was selling early on and should have seen the signs! After auditing for a few years, I moved to a large public accounting firm and began doing Financial Diligence for Mergers and Acquisitions primarily in the Oil and Gas industry. I started working excessive hours… After a few years, I had two back to back 80+ hour weeks. I pulled my timesheet for the previous 12 months and since I was on a salary, I could calculate my hourly rate. It was not good.

About the same time, my father found out he needed quadruple bypass surgery. It was a perfect storm so I quit my job and moved back to San Antonio. I knew accounting wasn’t for me but leaving the industry was a scary proposition. I started doing contract accounting work until I met with my father’s best friend John. He basically told me to stop being an idiot and embrace who I really am – a salesman. John had just started Patriot Real Estate Services and offered me a position to partner with him and become his first Realtor. What a ride it has been since!

In my first 8 months, I was awarded the San Antonio Board Of Realtor SABOR Rookie of the Year. The previous winner had 26 transactions in 12 months and I had 43 in 8 months. I have averaged over $1mm of monthly sales since I started in March 2018. I had no idea I would see this kind of explosive growth and success. It has not been easy. I work a LOT and rarely have time off, but it has been worth it! Since partnering with John in Patriot Real Estate Services, we have grown our team of agents to 7 and merged the brokerage with Keller Williams Heritage. We are now the Patriot Real Estate Services Team. After hitting my goal of $15mm in sales last year, I am beginning to focus more on growing our team and their success as I will take over the team on Jan 1, 2023!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ditching a comfortable CPA/consulting 9-5 salary for a 100% commission job is daunting to say the least. It still scares me, to be honest. It takes a lot of guts to show up and keep working when nothing is going your way and there is no way to make the phone ring. Being honest and sincere with people always serves you best in the long run and people recognize this. I started working out of a shed in the backyard of John’s house and would often be there into the late hours of the night. Success isn’t always glamorous but hard work pays off. We now have a fantastic office in the new Keller Williams Heritage office and couldn’t be happier!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Realtor – I work harder, smarter, and understand contracts better than most realtors out there. While I’ve only been a Realtor for 4 years, I’ve done over 200 deals and have more experience than most. I mainly focus on residential and ranch sales. I do commercials now and then. There are few agents out there that communicate or are available like I am, or have such a great team supporting them like I do.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I am relentless when working for a client. I understand what they want and their goals and work to achieve them.
