Today we’d like to introduce you to Andria Lugo.
Hi Andria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started this business back in 2019. My goal was to bring healthier, cleaner, toxin-free Candles into my home. Once I realized how amazing these candles were and how they improved my health and my asthma I decided that I want to bring love, light, and amazing smelling healthy candles into everybody’s homes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s definitely not been the smoothest road, in fact, I started right before the pandemic hit in September 2019, and the pandemic hit in 2020. My goal was to have a Candle Shop from the get-go because I did not want my home to be overpopulated with Candles, I wanted my home to strictly be my home. That quickly shifted and I was only able to do as many markets as the pandemic allowed, however, markets were a blessing in disguise because they allowed me to grow my clientele and my returning customers and they allowed me to learn what the customer likes and dislikes.
We’ve been impressed with Candles By Scentaholics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Candles By Scentaholics has been bringing toxin free candles into homes since 2019. We make and blend our own soy candles here in our shop at 401 E Blanco. Boerne, Texas. Along with other products like wax melts, car perfumes, reed diffusers, and Lipbee (Lipbalm) we also offer candlemaking Workshops where you can come in and make your own one of a kind candle. I would say that the thing that sets us apart from other candlemakers would probably have to be the fact that I also teach you how to make your own one-of-a-kind candle, I do private events where I will come to you, or you can book a class here at the shop or one of our candle class locations outside of Boerne. I am most proud that we made it through the pandemic and continued to thrive in the candle-making Industry.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Some qualities and characteristics I feel that are most important to my success would be the fact that I truly appreciate my customers and their feedback because without the customer there would be no Candle Shop. The customer is the most important part of being a small business owner!
