Today we’d like to introduce you to Branden Barnett.
Hi Branden, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Germany, raised in a military family. We traveled all over the US and I spent majority of my childhood in Texas. Throughout middle school and high school, I was a part of the band and played Trumpet. I first took an interest in creating my own music my freshman year in college freestyling with some roommates from Houston. Around 2014 is when I began recording with some other local artist. The following two years I began working on my sound and released collabs with an amazing artist named “Krisp”, all while throwing big shows and house parties. I’ve had the best experience working with a group collective called “Static Kiwi” while performing on tour throughout the state. I began focusing more on my own sound once the pandemic started. I have an amazing producer who goes by the name Kardeaa and we are able to still connect virtually and create amazing songs. Currently, I’m working on adding more visuals to my music portfolio, I’m actively creating and coming up with new ideas with Aiden from ADA productions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The music journey is never easy. There have been moments where I had to completely start over, shows that turned out to be scams, shows where the crowd energy was low. It’s all a part of learning to become a better artist.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from creating music I am a supervisor and work back office for one of the largest banks in the world. I work in the fraud department and specialize in consumer and commercial banking.
I’m known as the “party starter”, I bring high energy to any party, event, or show. I used to throw my own shows back in 2016
What sets me apart from others is my creativity. I have a very unorthodox style of singing and rap which fits perfect in my music.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
In the music industry, you have to be willing to take risks. You have to put yourself out there to gain either exposure or to network. Not every risk ends with a positive result but it’s how you bounce back from that experience.
