Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Acevedo.

Hi Patricia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for artisan jewelry started back in the day when I moved to my aunt’s house in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic’s capital in 2008. I am originally from a town in Bonao, called “El Verde”. There, I found my cousin who was making beautiful necklaces, watching her working on those beautiful pieces woke in me a new passion to make jewelry myself. I started learning and experimenting with different techniques and materials. In 2019, I launched my own brand as a jewelry designer “Patricia Acevedo Designs”. My inspiration comes from the richness of the Dominican Republic’s tropical nature, its flowers, coconut trees, the sea, folklore and colorful nature of my beautiful country.

I want to bring to every woman around the world my country’s amazing beauty.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road but I could say working hard, having a good strategy and finding the right people have helped me to showcase my jewelry and getting a great response from the public. Top brand shops in my country have showcase my products and here in the USA, have been showcased in the 2021 Latin Grammys by Artist Ana Grace and Unimax, TV Host and journalist Karina Banda.

My main struggle is to be able to showcase my products to locals here in San Antonio and the rest of the United States.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artisan jewelry designer. I specialize in designing, creating and making custom-made earrings. I am known for creating pieces that are able to highlight women beauty according to each person’s beauty and style. When I start creating each pieces, I’d like to imagine the type of woman that is going to wear each piece. I think about colors and materials and I began to sketch ideas and later I get together with my group of artisans to define how to create each piece.

My earrings are statement jewelry, in bright colors and shapes. I believe that a great design is able to bring great feelings and different emotions.
