Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Bennett.
Hi Sabrina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi. My name is Sabrina. I’m a Latina content creator, fitness influencer, and toddler mom of one. This is my story. My love for fitness was not expected and did not happen overnight. The pandemic brought with it a lot of negatives but my story starts. The start of the lockdown forced me out of my comfort zone and quite frankly to think outside of the box. I wanted to get back in shape after I had a baby so I started going to the gym, however, right when I found my groove the pandemic hit and our lives changed. I found myself lost like so many others, trying to continue what I started at the gym, at home. I was not successful. I was frustrated and I felt defeated. The world was changing, there were a lot of unknowns, but the one thing I knew for certain was that I was determined as ever to push through and hit my goals. I had to work through the challenges and find a way to practice resilience and determination. I wanted more than anything to remain consistent. I quickly learned I needed accountability for myself. I needed something to look forward to everyday, so I started streaming my workouts from home. It was embarrassing at first, people didn’t understand what I was doing, and very few people tuned in. But I reminded myself daily that this was for me. There was something about going live and knowing that I made that commitment to myself helped push me to show up every single day. Sure, my workouts were basic at first & my form was probably not the best but I showed up and I was consistent and that’s what mattered most. I was learning along the way, getting stronger & more knowledgeable with each workout. I started on Facebook, streaming 30 minute workouts and then advanced to hour long workouts sessions. I moved to Instagram and then very quickly to Tiktok. Fast forward to now, I’ve been doing daily workout streams for the last 2 years and have grown a community of more than 13,000 people who all have a common interest in becoming a better version of themselves. A happy, healthier and more confident version of themselves. This community I’m invested in includes so many mothers who relate to the struggles of finding time in the day to get an effective workout in. I have a soft spot in my heart for moms because that’s how my story started. There are many challenges moms face when it comes to getting back into fitness. My fitness journey did not come without challenges, in fact there were a lot of growing pains along the way. More than anything as a stay at home mom, having structure during my workouts was the breakthrough I needed to find a consistent schedule that worked for me. I want mother’s out there to know it is possible. Also, It’s ok to take time out for yourself to work on yourself. I continue to be motivated and driven by the people who reach out to me and share how inspired they are by my dedication and my workouts. They share their struggles and desire to change their current situation. To transform their lives for the better not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. So much of what I talk about when it comes to fitness has a direct correlation with mindset. It’s crucial to be in the right mindset in order to create a successful path on one’s fitness journey.
After receiving so much positive feedback and seeing the impact I’ve had on so many people I knew I wanted to share more. I want to help as many people as possible. If you would have told me two years ago when I first started streaming my backyard workouts that I would be studying to become a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist and be teaching so many people how to fall in love with fitness, I wouldn’t have believed you. What started out as a way to hold myself accountable has grown into a community of people who all come together around the common goal of wanting to move their bodies for the better. My hope when someone comes to my page is that they leave feeling intrigued and inspired to move their body. I do daily live one hour workouts Monday through Friday on TikTok and Instagram. I absolutely love it. I’m in the best shape of my life post baby which just blows my mind and I accomplished this not at a gym but from home. I’m a huge advocate for home workouts because they really are effective. I love everything about what I’m doing. I’ve grown so much and have learned so much along the way. I want to help moms who were in my same shoes but I also want to help people who want to gain confidence. Knowing I have the skills to completely transform someone’s life through fitness has driven my passion for what I do. The future is bright and I’m really excited about starting 1:1 coaching this year.
In the future, I would also like to launch my own membership service where people can expect daily workouts, workout routines with different intensity levels, challenges and new workouts with different types of equipment. I also intend to provide nutrition guides and meal plans. I have a YouTube channel where I post all my workouts and am launching a fitness blog very soon. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, not at all. It’s been extremely challenging. This included a lot of trial and error to find what works for me. I can’t stress enough this has not been easy but working out (especially as a mom) isn’t easy. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself, despite all the distractions that will come, How bad do you want to change your life, your current situation and your current health? What works for me might not work for the next mom but it’s important for me to share my story so moms know that it is possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I get to do what l love everyday. I get to meet new people and share my fitness journey in hopes that it inspires someone to start theirs. I get to have a direct & meaningful impact on changing peoples lives for the better. What could feel more rewarding and fulfilling than that?
