Meet Jaclyn Ruiz of SOL Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Ruiz.

Hi Jaclyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I was born and raised in Burbank, CA. I started dating my boyfriend in March of 2019 and at the time he worked in the oil and lived in Odessa, TX. After 2020, an opportunity brought him to San Antonio. So January of 2021, we moved into an apartment at Arrive Eilan off of La Cantera.

I was still back and forth from Los Angeles to San Antonio and on my visits here, I noticed a lack of noncorporate clothing stores. Being from L.A. where you can find a boutique on every corner, I couldn’t believe there really wasn’t one in this area, specifically the Eilan. Not only is there a high-end hotel, but it’s surrounded by apartment buildings, and has very high-end trendy restaurants.

So I thought why not just open one. I started the journey in February of 2021 and we had our grand opening on Nov. 20, 2021. I do all my buying in Los Angeles to help bring something new to the city, with a fusion of Texas vibes. My goal is to have something for everyone in here. For women of all ages to find unique pieces and make them their own! I’ve loved connecting with the community and I’m excited to keep growing!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been pretty smooth for the most part. No matter what opening a business is a lot of work and takes a lot of mental toughness! My co-owner, Marcel Marquez, also my boyfriend, has been a huge support! He keeps me focused and my eye on the prize.

As you know, we’re big fans of SOL Boutique LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
SOL Boutique is currently a Women’s Clothing Boutique with hopes to expand and have a men’s section. I like to say my clothes are trendy, sexy, but classy. I love that girls genuinely leave here loving what they bought and feeling beautiful! I want girls to be able to find their vacation outfits here, that different outfits to wear to that festival or rodeo, date night, or brunch with the girls!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned that you have to live life every day! I’ve learned that health and mental health should be something that is a priority daily!
