Life & Work with Ariel Cantu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Cantu.

Hi Ariel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
From a young age, I’ve embraced my creative side. It all began my Senior year of Highschool when I was gifted a camera from my now-husband. I volunteered to take Senior photos for my classmates who didn’t have a photo to submit in the yearbook. It was from that moment that my passion for photography blossomed. From the moment I picked up my first camera, I haven’t been able to put one down. That same feeling I felt providing my classmates with photos of their moment, I feel today when I’m delivering galleries to my clients. It’s the best feeling in the world, to freeze time for others. Today, I count myself so blessed to have the opportunity to tell my client’s stories through photos.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It would be a lie to say it’s been a smooth road. I believe there are benefits to bumps in the road. The trials I have faced have molded me into the photographer I am today. One of my greatest struggles was believing in my worth to make the transition from amateur to a professional photographer. For the longest time, I avoided the word professional. The support of my family, friends, and community has meant the world to me. Today, I proudly claim to be a professional portrait and wedding photographer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a portrait and wedding photographer, who loves people. I specialize in family, couple, and wedding photography. I am known for my personable personality and my creative eye. I am most proud of the business I have grown and the relationships I have created with my clients. I believe that everyone has the potential to be amazing and my sincere love for others has set me apart from many in this business. I give credit to so many creatives who have taken me under their wing and shown me how a true community over competition woman runs her business.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I love getting to know people whether it be through photography sessions, collaborations with other creatives, or something as simple as an Instagram follow. I always tell my family, friends, and clients who end up becoming friends that I can be contacted at any time of the day. I have an inquiry form on my website www.arielraquelphotography.com if anyone would like to reach out.
