Hi Austin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
CoPilot Creative is a boutique branding and interior design studio based in New Braunfels Texas. We are continuing the values that were started in 1975. Bold branding, simple effective design communication and personal integrity. As a kid growing up in Gruene Texas around fine artists, I’ve always been interested in “making things”. I just can’t stop. After school at Texas State University with a Communication Design degree, I moved to Colorado Springs to work for a design studio. I was ready to get out of Texas and needed a big adventure. From there I found my groove at another studio called CoPilot Creative and eventually purchased in 2010. We moved back to central Texas 6 years ago to be closer to family and kickstart the interior design part of our business. To date, we work with clients to help communicate their brand message and brand experience in their space. We create the feel and the vibe of the marketing and the experience of the space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, there has been challenges along the way, but nothing that could not be overcome. I feel really fortunate to have had such a clear direction and path. Small business is just solving problems and as a designer, we love that kind of stuff.

CoPilot works with clients to help communicate their brand messages and brand experiences in their space. Most design studios do not have interior designers on staff. What makes us unique is the ability to create a brand and identity, then translate that to the client’s physical space.
We are a group of creatives and unique thinkers ready to make great things for brands that do great things. We specialize in brand experiences by translating a brand’s story to its physical space. Since 1975 we’ve helped organizations tell their stories with clever marketing and award-winning design. Propel Forward.
We have also started our own fine art line over the last few years. We’ve illustrated area maps in a fun and unique way. Each one is then hand-silkscreened, signed, and editioned for sale. We’ve had a ton of fun with these and it gives us a break from the day-to-day client work.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success funds our minimal lifestyle. Period. We’re lucky enough to have great work, awesome clients, and love what we do. It’s all integrated into our life and lifestyle. It’s all art.
