Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Yanez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve had a passion for photography since I was younger, around 15 years of age, I remember having one of those Kodiak film cameras and id take photos of everything, people mostly, then years after when I enrolled in college, I got a digital camera and again, I would document every event or moment in life, more during my college times, I still have all the photos I took.
Back in 2014, I moved to the US from Mexico, with a lot of dreams and a desire to learn more English, I ended up loving living here so decided to stay permanently, my photography journey started in 2018 when my brother-in-law gave me his professional camera as a gift, back then I didn’t know how to use a professional camera, I went to parks and took photos of the landscape and people without knowing what I was doing, the photos I took were bad technically speaking, but that didn’t stop me from learning about photography.
I started reading and watching videos about how to take better photos until I started getting better and gaining confidence in my skills. We never stop learning and I know that for a fact, and I’m always finding a way to be better and learn more and more, and the best of it? I love what I do! I do it with passion, and I truly believe that when we do what we love, we never get tired of it and we can have a happier life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For sure this journey hasn’t been easy, you encounter yourself with doubt at times, more when you are starting a new dream, you ask yourself: am I doing this right? Is what am doing good enough?
I’m sure we all have walked through this, but I can tell you something when you truly believe in yourself, there’s nothing that can make you doubt or tell you otherwise. When you have that passion, that fire in you, you can conquer anything you set your mind to.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer that specializes in weddings, but I also do a lot of families, maternity, and quinceaneras, I’d say I capture the emotion, the love in a unique way, my style is film/earthy/warm tones. I try to make my photos look their best, beautiful and elegant.
For me each client is special and unique, I photograph normal people, people with insecurities, imperfections, with fears, but also a lot of passion. I just love capturing, what makes them different from others, also I’m always available for my clients to answer any questions they might have.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I’m always open to collab with new entrepreneurs, or whoever needs help with something, I’m always willing to help, with questions, style shoots, network with vendors in the area.
