Today we’d like to introduce you to Dolly Perez.
Hi Dolly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Growing up, I had such amazing parents; my sisters and I were so loved. However, we spent most of our time with our mom, all I really knew about my dad at a young age was that he worked with apartment complexes in San Antonio and surrounding areas, sometimes out of state. It wasn’t until I was in college that he started talking to us more about all his business ventures.
It was then that I realized how big of an entrepreneur my dad really was. He had his own construction company at one point with his brothers and I remember him being so proud of that business and it being a big step for him. After we lost our mom in 2018, it became even more apparent that my dad worked hard all those years not only to put food on the table or to give us a roof over our heads but to leave my sisters and I with all his knowledge of business and what hard work can get you.
For years, I worked in customer service, and I began to realize it was just a job and I was not passionate about it. I would constantly ask myself when I would find my passion and start living the life I wanted. I have always been a believer that people can achieve anything they want, I love to help boost someone’s confidence and give them words of encouragement. That is why when I came across body sculpting, I realized how perfect this profession was for me.
It allows me to help people achieve their body goals because let’s face it sometimes working out is not enough! I love assisting both men and women target those stubborn areas and achieving their body goals. I find body sculpting so relaxing and I love that after each session my clients walk out with such confidence, it doesn’t feel like a job!
If it wasn’t for my dad showing me how much of an amazing entrepreneur he has been and my mom always telling me growing up I can do what I set my mind to, I would not be where I am. I am so appreciative for the support of my dad, my mom looking over me, my sisters, and my loving partner, this venture would have been difficult without each one of them.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road because starting a business is a first for me, I was unaware of the proper steps to take and what I should NOT do. However, I have two great entrepreneurs in my life, my dad, and my boyfriend, so being able to get some insight into their experiences has been a great help, especially with all of the legal aspects of running a business.
When it comes to running a body sculpting business and letting people know what it does or the results that can be achieved, was a challenge because most people are still unfamiliar with it. Some were skeptical as to whether my business would be successful, but I did the work and research to be able to make my business successful.
I worked in customer service for years, so I know how to speak to customers and what it takes to provide a great customer experience, so luckily that has helped me as well.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I offer body sculpting services, which serve as such a great alternative to surgery because there is zero downtime, it’s non-invasive and pain-free! Body sculpting consists of several treatments that target the body differently.
It targets the stubborn fat areas on the body that are hard to get rid of. Once that fat is broken down and liquified your body naturally disposes of it, these treatments also help to reshape and contour your body and tighten/firm loose or sagging skin.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as having a job that I enjoy, to the point where it no longer feels like a job but turns into a passion of mine. Being just as happy in my professional life, as I am in my personal life and realizing that people can have both is what I consider to be a success.
People often think it has to be one or the other, I find that if I can manage to be happy in both I have a better opportunity to thrive in my professional life.
