Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Jacobi Jeter.
Hi Andrew Jacobi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Memphis, TN, and where my journey began but it has since allowed me to be in many places throughout the USA. I got started in the entertainment world as a kid. I told my mom when I was four I wanted to be one of the people in the box referring to the television and from there my journey began.
I now own a Creative Arts Company by the name of Creative Circuit Studios which collaborates with different companies and organizations to produce events and art projects from film, music, concert, art shows, festivals, and more. Our goal is to educate, entertain, and elevate all forms of Art. We also do creative marketing for companies as well.
Over the course of my career in the entertainment/art industry, I’ve been able to have many great experiences from being a Radio Disney Dancer and having the opportunity to open for Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers, to traveling with a tour of High School Musical, backup dancing different artists, producing independent films, hosting One Act Festivals, being the Creative Director for notable Fashion Shows, being a part of Art festivals, and the list is still growing.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road, being so young in the industry at the time not a lot of roles were written for young african american boys/teens. It’s now more out there for people of color. So navigating that early in my life helped me to grow not only in my career but as a person.
Another prominent factor being my mom was a single parent most of my life with my dad coming in and out of the picture because of his own life decisions. So affording to take classes like dance poses a challenge for my family financially. I used to be the kid in the dance studio who could only afford the classes because he swept the studio floors and cleaned the mirrors, which is how I got my dancer’s name of “Stu-D-Oh” because I was always there cleaning.
These small challenges are just a few examples of my struggles. I’m sure they are nothing compared to others but these are a part of my ongoing story and I will continue to share my story through my art.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Entertainer but above all, I am a Humanitarian. I want to be known for giving back more than anything. Yes, I use my talent in the entertainment/art industry to do so. Collaborating with others that has that same mission and goal. Having my company and team that believe in that same mission.
I am most proud that as long as I’ve been in the business I am still myself authentically and not any other version that this industry tries to make you. And with that I’m able to share my mantra of “Always, Love to Live”. You have to love what you do in order to live what you do, and when you do that is when you’re truly living.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
As Roman philosopher Seneca said, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity”. So, I think luck has allowed me to not have opportunities which are not right for me. As well as made me work harder to reach the goals I want to achieve.
