Meet Street Lamp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Street Lamp.

Hi Street, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Street Lamp is a band consisting of four very different artists. Each artist was already performing with other acts before we had decided to unify. Our first gigs were in the small town of Del Rio, TX. Realizing we wanted to reach out to a bigger audience we started booking shows in San MO, San Antonio, Austin, and the surrounding area. Today, we are building a buzz in Texas but we would like to be known and listened to nationwide.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve only been around three years and that’s how long our guitar player has been playing guitar. (Lol). Traveling takes a toll on the human body but we enjoy it, nevertheless. Half of the band lives out of San Antonio, so communication is imperative when booking dates and making schedules.

The weather always plays a factor, we’ve been rained on and even hailed on.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Street Lamp is based out of San Antonio TX. We are a rock/funk group that is currently building a buzz in TX as we travel to perform at different venues. We are known for picking up last-minute cancellations, (so give us a call). Our first EP will be released on Nov. 5th and we are always writing and hopping in the studio to bring more to the table for our followers and listeners.

We would like to say that our very unique sound is what separates us from others. Trying to give San Antonio (and the world) something fresh, crisp, and new. Something they’ve never heard before.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Being musicians you would think that we like to party and all that fun stuff but we are all actually pretty introverted. Get the gig done, socialize with our peers, and get ready for the next show.
