Today we’d like to introduce you to Quincy Sabatini.
Hi Quincy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
i started tattooing over 5 years ago now, but i originally started as a piercer in Hayward California in 2008. I also started going to art school in high school and then was going to go to California College of Arts and Crafts but ended up moving to Texas instead. I had a number of jobs along the way my resume is actually quite extensive. But in the end working in tattoo shops always felt like home so i took the plunge and started my apprenticeship. about two and a half years ago i decided to open my own shop here in Seguin called Desert Rose Ink, and it was one of the best decisions i have made.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Theres no such thing as a smooth road, but with hard work and delusion anything is possible. Theres always going to be struggles, money issues, and horrible bosses (until your your own boss) but in the end its what you make of it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I guess you can say that I specialize in fine line illustrative western and floral tattoos. I prefer to work in black and gray but I am also fond of soft color as well.
I am most proud of the space I have created for my clients. Our tattoo sessions are more then just that, its a therapy session as well and a place where you can overshare and it be absolutely normal. I truly have some of the best clients I could ever ask for and they trust me with their art work that they wear. If I can help someone feel more confident and loved then it was a great day.
What makes you happy?
Being creative, HANDS DOWN. I could be having the most stressful day and i come to work or make something with my hands and i will instantly be in a better mood. Its not just tattooing, its painting, working on my motorcycle, or building something around my house. ive always been this way.
