Hi Chauntae “Tae”, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started in education. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, but eventually found my way into the beauty industry and became a licensed esthetician. In 2017, I started Wax Snob Studios, where I began focusing on waxing and intimate skin care.
Over the years, the business has grown into more than just providing services. I’ve become passionate about educating clients, training other beauty professionals, and helping newer estheticians better understand both the service and business side of the industry.
Entrepreneurship has come with highs, lows, rebuilding seasons, and a lot of lessons, but every part of the journey has helped shape where I am today. I’m now continuing to grow Wax Snob while expanding more into education, training, and mentorship within the beauty industry.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship has stretched me in ways I never expected. I’ve had seasons where business was growing and exciting, and other seasons where I had to navigate financial pressure, staffing changes, personal challenges, and the reality that being talented at your craft does not automatically mean you know how to run a business.
One of my biggest lessons has been learning how to keep going while also being willing to change. I’ve had to rebuild, make difficult decisions, learn from mistakes, and become much more intentional about the business side of what I do. Those challenges have made me a stronger owner, educator, and leader, and they’ve also given me real experiences that I can now use to help other beauty professionals avoid some of the same mistakes.

Wax Snob Studios is a specialized waxing and intimate skin care studio focused on helping clients achieve smoother, healthier-looking skin while feeling comfortable and educated throughout the process. We are known for Brazilian waxing, ingrown hair care, hyperpigmentation support, and corrective intimate skin treatments.
What sets us apart is that we do not treat waxing as just hair removal. We look at the skin, technique, aftercare, and the client’s individual concerns. We also specialize in serving women of color and addressing concerns common in melanin-rich skin, while remaining inclusive to everyone.
I’m most proud that Wax Snob has become a space where intimate skin concerns can be discussed professionally and without embarrassment. The brand has also grown into education and training for other beauty professionals, which allows me to help raise the standard of waxing and intimate skin care beyond my own studio.
