Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Longoria.
Hi Alex, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2010, I packed my bags and moved to San Antonio. I had completely outgrown my hometown and was starving for a place where I could actually grow and build a future. My sister took me in, giving me the launching pad I needed in the Alamo City. I started at the very bottom of the banking world as a teller. Through sheer hustle, I worked my way up the totem pole—moving from financial services to bank officer, and eventually climbing to Branch Manager and AVP! Banking taught me the numbers, but more importantly, it taught me how to take care of people.
In 2019 wanted to expand my reach and take my passion for customer service to the next level. I took a leap into real estate! Building a business as a solo agent takes relentless grit, but there is nothing more rewarding than guiding clients through one of the biggest milestones of their lives. I’m incredibly proud of the trust my clients place in me and the goals we’ve smashed together. Real estate gave me a lot of value and opportunities and mentorship that I was seriously lacking.
But if you really want to know what fuels my fire, you have to look at my lifelong love for music. Around the pandemic, when the world paused, I decided to plug back in. I founded the bands Realms of Death & As I Dosed Myself. I put my name out there as a bass player and started filling in on bass for my friends’ bands.
Since then, I have traveled to incredible parts the world, touring Europe and the America’s with incredible acts like Bullshit Detector, Die Young, and Liberty & Justice. I also release music under my solo effort Midnight Eyes.
People often ask how the corporate real estate world connects to the DIY punk and hardcore scene. To me, they’re two sides of the same coin. Both require intense dedication, authentic connection, and showing up 100% for the people around you. San Antonio gave me the space to grow into all these different versions of myself, and I’m just getting started.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There will always be struggles. The road is always hard, it’s more about the journey than everything. What fun would the trip be with out a detour or struggle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Having climbed the ranks from bank teller to Assistant Vice President, I look at real estate through a highly sophisticated financial lens. I’m not just helping you find a home; I understand the underwriting, the lending landscape, and how this investment fits into your long-term wealth building.
What sets me apart is that I don’t fit into a box. I can talk high-level underwriting and market analytics in the morning, and play a blistering thrash set at night. My music keeps me grounded, creative, and authentic. Clients appreciate that I’m a real person who brings intense passion to everything I do—whether it’s helping them buy a home or holding down the low end on stage.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Summer family trips to California / Disney land. Saturday night cook outs, Hardcore shows at Sals Pizza.
