Hi Jeremiah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a long time resident of San Antonio and local graduate from UIW, I set out to establish a one of a kind restaurant and become a staple in a city I’ve grown to love! With little to no funds and an idea I could not let go of, I opened the only PB&J restaurant in Texas! PB&J is a nod to simplicity and a simpler life that only a PB&J brings us back too! This sandwich has been around since the early 1900’s and to bring it to life in a restaurant format took a vision of easier times with an elevated style.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Pathing a smooth road in opening any restaurant or small business is virtually impossible to say the least! Add in a concept that’s never been done before and Covid 2020 lingering in the future of our October 2019 opening date and struggles become normal everyday! After opening the main struggle become how do we stay open when we’re not open? How do we pay the bills when there are no customers? Do we throw in the towel and call it quits when no one is venturing out and no one is spending money? All these factors become the struggles of 2020 we all felt!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The creativeness of this restaurant is what sets us apart from any other restaurant in Texas! From the “old school” feel of the decor to the elevated sandwiches, we are a restaurant that you’ve never experienced before. The fact that you feel right at home, like sitting in grandmas kitchen after a long day of school as she hands you a perfectly made PB&J is truly what we’ve cultivate in this shop. This alone is why we’ve become a beloved place to embrace in this city!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
One thing we’ve prided ourselves on is keeping it simple and making it an experience. With that, we don’t do third party deliveries and we don’t take online orders. We truly want you to come in and experience this one of a kind place and tell us how your day is going! Say hi! Chat abit! Get to know your neighborhood friends!
