Hi Jennifer, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Jennifer Craft—wife, mother, author, and the creative force behind JC Events.
Long before this became a career, it was a feeling. A quiet knowing that I was meant to be part of life’s most meaningful celebrations. Weddings, to me, have always been more than a single day—they are a reflection of a couple’s story, their people, and the moments that matter most.
I earned my degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Texas State University, later becoming a certified event planner. That foundation, paired with years of hands-on experience, allows me to approach each wedding with both intention and ease—balancing logistics with creativity in a way that feels seamless for my clients.
Outside of weddings, you’ll find me spending time with my family, enjoying everyday adventures, or getting lost in a good book. I’m also a proud cat and dog mom—my fur babies are part of the rhythm of it all.
This work is personal to me. Being invited into such a meaningful chapter of someone’s life is something I never take lightly. It’s a responsibility, but more than that—it’s a privilege.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride—there have been mountaintop moments, plenty of plot twists, and a few seasons spent face-down in the dirt. But that’s the event industry for you!
Some years are overflowing with celebrations, while others move at a much slower pace. During the harder seasons, I’ve learned not to panic—but to pivot, reassess our systems, and make meaningful improvements.
Being self-employed is not all rainbows, sunshine, and perfectly styled tablescapes. It takes grit, resilience, and the ability to smile professionally while quietly putting out twelve fires behind the scenes.
This journey is certainly not for the faint of heart—but even through the messy seasons, I wouldn’t trade it. Every high, low, lesson, and unexpected detour has helped shape the business—and the woman—I am today.

“What don’t I do?” might be the better question.
I have specialized in wedding planning since launching my business in 2014. What began as Events by Jennifer Craft later evolved into JC Events—a brand that better reflects how much the business has grown, changed, and expanded over the years.
During the uncertainty of COVID, I pivoted and added floral design as another revenue stream. What started as a business decision quickly became something much more personal. I discovered a sense of peace in working with flowers and a genuine love for creating designs that bring a wedding vision to life.
Today, many of my couples love the convenience and connection of having one trusted professional serve as both their planner and florist. It allows every detail—from the timeline to the tablescapes—to feel cohesive, intentional, and beautifully planned.
Together, my husband, John, and I work side by side to keep JC Events growing and thriving. We are also incredibly blessed to have a dedicated team behind us—because bringing wedding dreams to life is never a one-person job, and we truly could not do it without them!
I may be recognized for my energy, my one-of-a-kind laugh, or my red hair, but I hope I am remembered for being trustworthy, a loyal friend, an excellent planner, and someone people genuinely enjoy working with.
Being an author also sets me apart within the wedding industry. I published a memoir and practical guide created for brides, aspiring planners, and anyone curious about the world behind the celebrations. Through personal stories, honest lessons, and a few unforgettable tales from behind the veils, I offer readers a glimpse into my journey, what the industry is truly like, and what they can expect along the way.
From time to time, I also enjoy making guest appearances on KENS 5’s Great Day SA. It is always fun to showcase the latest trends, share creative projects, and offer viewers a little inspiration they can bring into their own celebrations.
At the heart of everything I do is a love for people, creativity, and meaningful celebrations—and I am grateful that my career allows me to bring all three together.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was very much the same person I am today—a big personality wrapped in a petite package. Some might have called me “bossy,” but I prefer to think of it as early leadership potential.
I have always been a planner, a stickler for punctuality, a creative soul, and a hopeless romantic. In fact, by the age of eleven, I had already planned my wedding to Prince Charming—not just once, but for every season of the year. You know… just in case he preferred a spring garden wedding over a cozy winter celebration.
