Meet Lisa Rawling of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Rawling.

Hi Lisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The start of Lisa’s Sugar Fix was part of a coping mechanism. I began creating with absolutely no experience, and I wasn’t always great at it before I became my business. One day a good friend was craving some sweets, and I decided to bake something for her. She then praised how yummy the cookies were and encouraged me to keep baking and that I had real potential to start selling as well!
Over the past 7 years, My business – Lisa’s Sugar Fix, is something I’m extremely proud of. Before this I had only worked one normal 9-5 job and that was very short term. I quickly realized the corporate world was not for me. Ever since then I have poured my heart into my business and strive for success. The level of determination is something I hang onto tightly!
Being my own management, creator, and such has really shaped some strong skills. Such as recipe development, mastering consistency, buisness skills, and just over all perfecting quality and communication.
I’m extremely proud how far I’ve come from just winging it!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most definitely, there has been struggles, but with comes with struggles is getting up and trying again! For me my struggle within my business comes with moving! I recently moved which has definitely benefited me overall, but gaining the new engagement and customer base can be a struggle & it’s something I’m still learning how welcome in!
I decided to create a plan recently, as I’m no stranger to moving so I’m using past experiences to learn how to move past this little blockage, and it’s working! Slowly, surely, and consistently as well. I have very high hopes!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in homemade cookies, gourmet items, brownies, and muffins! Also, protein cookie!
My best seller over the past 5 years have been the Oatmeal Cream Pies!
Lately, over the last 7 years of experience I have now started creating my own recipes and they have been such a hit. Such as my stuffed pop tart cookies, the protein cookies, and Samoa brownies.
I always mention, everyone carries a different set of skills even if we all create the same thing, I personally love to play around with flavors and bring something to the table that’s not common, but I know is irresistible.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I will always praise, it was all my husband! In the beginning, for the first year he invested into my business such as buying me my supplies and ingredients. In all thanks to him, I was able to become someone successful as he invested the dream which is now a reality!
