Today we’d like to introduce you to Celinda De La Fuente.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story started just as many others did… with pain. Since elementary school, I lived with the constant struggle of an autoimmune disorder. For a long time, it felt like suffering, the type of suffering that existed as my only companion. There was no escape from my body, which became my prison. And it was that same pain that became my fuel for transformation. The challenges I faced in my own body became the fire that pushed me to find a real way to heal.
I began studying ancient healing arts and practices, and later, Consciousness, Psychology, and Transformation to find answers that no Western doctor could give me. I trained deeply in Qigong and Energy Healing, learning how to slow down and listen to my body. Through this fire, through this struggle, through this mystery of life is where I found purpose. Pain was not the enemy. Pain was a messenger, and I needed to learn to listen.
That is why I started Ashes to Phoenix LLC. It is everything I went through —rising above the fire of my own struggles, then finally just understanding that I was the fire. No need to rise above, just simply be it. Let it burn until something beautiful is born in the morning. Today, I use everything I learned from my own journey with chronic pain to give people simple tools to move from survival mode and reclaim wholeness. My deepest hardship became the space where I understood that our community can find strength, presence, and true healing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It all depends on your perspective, doesn’t it? Five years ago, I might have complained that the road was rough, but today I see it completely differently. A road will always have bumps. There will always be unexpected turns and undesirable situations, but that does not mean they are problems. It just means it is a road we have never walked down before. I see those moments as opportunities to learn and grow.
Because of this new understanding, I can now see that my biggest challenge has not been external obstacles. The main struggle has been unlearning the conditioned belief systems that I inherited… the ones projected onto me by a society that still thrives off the effects of colonization.
Colonization teaches us to live in scarcity, competition, and survival mode. Breaking free from those old mindsets and reclaiming my own power, the ancestral wisdom that exists in all of us, and my true worth has been the real journey. The bumps on the road are guaranteed, but the real work, mi gente… the real work is changing how we walk down it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Ashes to Phoenix LLC, I hold a safe space for people to reconnect with their bodies and truly feel what they need to feel. I specialize in energy healing and nervous system regulation. Most people come to me because they just want to get rid of their physical or emotional pain, which is understandable. I did that early on in my journey as well. But my work focuses on something deeper than resisting pain. Together, we focus on changing your relationship with that pain. We approach healing as remembrance, remembering wholeness instead of trying to fix something that is broken.
So many of us have learned to suppress our emotions. Because of this, simply experiencing a heavy emotion can automatically activate the amygdala—the reptilian brain—and launch us straight into fight-or-flight survival mode. I offer a space where individuals can safely feel and process these emotions instead of running from them. By doing this, we literally rewire the nervous system and begin remembering wholeness. Remembering wholeness means knowing that even when dark times or undesirable situations show up, we possess the tools to self-regulate and find our center again. Remembering that we have the power within us every second of the day.
I bridge ancient wisdom, Energy Healing, and modern science in each session. I back my intuitive work with a Graduate Certificate in Consciousness, Psychology, and Transformative Studies, focusing on Consciousness and Healing from National University. I am also certified in several Energy Healing modalities. I facilitate Qigong group sessions throughout the city, offer one-on-one Energy Healing sessions, and offer Energy Healing Practitioner Certification courses in Reiki, Violet Flame Healing Practitioner, Metatron Healing Practitioner, and Akashic Records Healing Practitioner. All courses are accredited by the Complementary Therapists Accredited Association. Ashes To Phoenix offers a variety of services to the community and individuals alike.
Helping people transform how they relate to their bodies and their pain is what keeps me moving forward on this path. When you shift your perspective and heal your inner world, your outer world naturally follows. We must change what is within to see the reality we want outside of us.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up in the 80s, I was what my momma called an “Odd Child.” That was literally her nickname for me…. Odd Child. Needless to say, I didn’t fit in. I was a quiet, introverted kid just observing the world around me, unsure of how to live in it. I was often told to tone myself down, to stop asking questions, to just be like everyone else, or I wouldn’t have any friends. Back then, we didn’t know much about neurodivergence. Looking back now with a better understanding of myself, I accept that I am on the neurodivergent spectrum, and that is a superpower. Had I grown up in today’s society, my experience would have been completely different, but back then, books and sci-fi shows honestly became my closest friends and safe havens.
I also grew up in a strict, faith-based background. As I got older, I had to do a lot of heavy unlearning to heal from religious trauma. It was a long process of separating rigid rules from spirituality and true inner guidance. Ultimately, I do my best to keep the core foundation of love, compassion, empathy, and kindness – treating others how we want to be treated – while letting go of the rest. I place a great value on Indigenous wisdom, which celebrates unity and oneness. I do my best to exemplify those values in all areas of my life.
We also faced a lot of financial hardships growing up. There were times we grew up without enough food, not knowing where our next meal was going to come from. But I don’t look back on that with negativity. My mom did the absolute best she could for us with what she had. Going through those times taught me how to take care of myself and brought me incredibly close to my sister, a bond I still treasure deeply today. And it also inspired me to pursue an education. I would not be the woman I am today without those experiences. I have gratitude daily now for everything in my life. I look at everything I have built today, through the grace of God, under the guidance of the Infinite Intelligence that exists in everyone and everything, and I smile. I am still standing. Still moving. Still creating. Hardship will teach you gratitude in the darkest of nights. Even in the darkest of nights, the Moon will light the way. And Joy comes in the morning.
It took time to realize that who I was wasn’t “wrong.” That I wasn’t “broken.” I was simply different. And we need diversity… now more than ever. Learning to embrace my neurodivergence and heal my past is exactly what allowed me to build the safe, judgment-free space I offer to others today. And so, the Odd Child grew into an Odd Woman. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. What is normal anyway? I find the very word itself rather boring, quite frankly.
So to anyone reading this who has been told you do not fit in, that you are a bit weird, take it as a compliment and dig deeper into your authenticity. Disrupt the system by being YOU. And I will be right there with you, my friend.
