Check Out They Call This Tragedy Akira, Mat, Dax, Diego, Sabastian’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to They Call This Tragedy Akira, Mat, Dax, Diego, Sabastian.

Hi They Call This Tragedy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a band We started out as Me ( Akira bassist ) And our guitarist Diego. We had gone a few weeks looking for members we found one vocalist but she had plans for other music, then We found Our current vocalist Mat. We then had gotten our Guitarist Dax who is an exceptionally talented guitarist for his age as he the youngest. Then we got Sabastian our newest member and current drummer. We have been a band for about 2-3 years now and have had so much fun performing for San Antonio

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far I Can’t say it was smooth nor was it bumpy we have had our ups and downs when it came to making music and performing but we learned to settle those out. When it comes to our performances we have always thought if it as just having fun and getting on stage to perform for the ppl and for ourselves and to show our love for the scene. I cant really say we have ever hit a road block or any major obstacle yet. Just some minor inside struggles with how we what type of genre and sound we wanted to produce.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a band what sets us apart from other bands is our music and how wide our genre spreads from emo and shoegaze to hardcore and post-hardcore we like to spread our sound out so it can reach anyone from any scene so that way they can enjoy us even if someone is from a completely different scene they could still listen to our music and enjoy it.

What I would like to think we are known for is how nice we are to people. In our eyes we treat ppl how they wanna be treated you come to us with kindness and respect we come to you with the same. We love spreading kindness towards upcoming bands and venue owners so long as it’s being reciprocated. Personally I love talking with upcoming bands especially people who just started in the scene. I try to do my best to get them on good bills with bigger bands in the scene so they can be found by others and also enjoyed. I hate seeing talent get wasted by people who don’t give them a shot especially when that talent has potential to become something special.

We are most proud of hoe much love we have gathered from the scene and how much ppl come to see us perform and enjoy our live RAW SOUND !!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
We would define success as bring a community together through art and creativity. And San Antonio as a music scene does just that. There obviously isn’t always gonna be love and respect throughout the entire scene, but as of right now there is a lot when it comes to those bigger bands and artist in the scene. from what we have seen and gone through We can safely say we have a nice big community if friends that we love to see succeed and performing with all these big touring artist bands such as Once more, wooly mammoth, one last dance, The Seduced etc. we love seeing everyone succeed and keep making music its one of our favorite things to watch.
