Life & Work with Dyana of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dyana.

Hi Dyana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story is one of family, faith, perseverance, and creativity.

Before I was a business owner, I was a wife and a mother. Those roles have always been the foundation of who I am. Much of what I do today is rooted in the values I learned through raising a family, serving my community, and creating meaningful connections with others.

Over the years, I discovered a passion for creating and bringing joy to people through personalized gifts, special events, and experiences. What began as a creative outlet gradually grew into DC Creations, where I specialize in custom products, laser engraving, sublimation, and personalized keepsakes. Later, that passion expanded into Sassy Sips, a specialty beverage business that allows me to combine creativity, hospitality, and community engagement.

My journey has never been limited to business. I have always believed in giving back through volunteer work, cultural events, scholarship fundraising, and supporting organizations that strengthen our community. Whether I am helping organize an event, creating something special for a customer, or serving drinks at a local festival, my goal is always the same: to make people feel welcomed, valued, and celebrated.

One of my greatest sources of pride is my family. Watching my children pursue their own dreams—including military service, higher education, and professional success—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. Their accomplishments inspire me to continue growing and pursuing my own goals.

Today, I continue to build my businesses while remaining active in the community I love. My story is still being written, but if there is one thing I have learned, it is that success is not measured only by what we achieve for ourselves, but by the impact we have on others along the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not always been a smooth road, but I believe the challenges have shaped me into the person I am today.

Like many women, I have spent much of my life balancing multiple roles at once—wife, mother, volunteer, community leader, and entrepreneur. One of the greatest challenges has been learning how to pursue my own dreams while continuing to be present for the people who depend on me. There were seasons when my family needed my full attention and other times when I had to find the courage to invest in myself and my goals.

Building a business came with its own obstacles. There was no roadmap, no guarantee of success, and many lessons learned through trial and error. I had to learn new skills, adapt to changing circumstances, and step outside my comfort zone more times than I can count. Starting something new always involves uncertainty, but I chose to keep moving forward.

I have also learned that growth often requires patience. Not every opportunity arrives when we want it to, and not every plan unfolds exactly as expected. There were moments when progress felt slow, but those experiences taught me resilience, gratitude, and the importance of trusting the process.

Looking back, I would not change those challenges. They taught me to lead with empathy, to appreciate the value of hard work, and to celebrate every milestone, big or small. Most importantly, they reminded me that success is not about having a perfect journey—it’s about continuing to move forward with purpose, even when the path is uncertain.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a creator, entrepreneur, podcaster, and community-minded individual who has built businesses and platforms around bringing people together and celebrating life’s meaningful moments.

I own DC Creations and Sassy Sips, two businesses that allow me to combine creativity, hospitality, and personal connection. Through DC Creations, I create custom gifts, personalized products, laser-engraved items, and event pieces designed to make special occasions even more memorable. Through Sassy Sips, I provide specialty beverages for community events, fundraisers, festivals, private parties, and corporate gatherings.

I am also the host of Classy, Latina & Loud, a podcast where I share stories, conversations, and experiences that celebrate culture, family, community, personal growth, and the voices of everyday people. The podcast has given me another opportunity to connect with others and highlight the stories that often go untold.

What I am most proud of is not any one product, business, or project, but the relationships I have built along the way. Through my businesses, podcast, and community involvement, I have been able to support local causes, celebrate important milestones, and create meaningful connections with people from all walks of life.

What sets me apart is that I lead with heart. Whether I am creating a custom piece, serving guests at an event, recording a podcast episode, or volunteering in the community, my goal is always the same: to make people feel seen, valued, and celebrated. I believe success is measured not only by what we build, but by the positive impact we leave on others.

Any big plans?
The future feels exciting because I still have so many things I want to accomplish and experience.

Professionally, I plan to continue growing DC Creations and Sassy Sips, creating opportunities to serve more clients, participate in larger events, and build meaningful partnerships throughout the community. I enjoy creating experiences that bring people together, and I look forward to expanding those opportunities in the years ahead.

I am also excited to continue developing my podcast and other creative projects that allow me to connect with people, share stories, and celebrate the experiences that make our communities unique. Storytelling, creativity, and community have become important parts of my journey, and I hope to continue building on all three.

Personally, I look forward to spending time with my family, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating new memories together. Watching my children pursue their own paths has been one of life’s greatest blessings, and I am excited to see what the future holds for them.

Most of all, I hope to continue making a positive impact. Whether through my businesses, volunteer work, community involvement, or simply encouraging others to pursue their goals, I want to leave behind a legacy of service, creativity, and connection. I believe there is always room to grow, learn, and dream bigger, and I look forward to embracing whatever comes next.
