Conversations with Kelly Wade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Wade.

Hi Kelly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a landscape photographer, but, I love photographing just about anything, but my true passion lies in capturing landscapes from the places I’ve traveled with my family and local landscapes here in Texas. I bought my first camera in 2007 and had no idea what I was doing. I am 100% self-taught.
When I first started taking photos, I never imagined that anyone would want to buy one of my images. It’s an amazing and deeply gratifying feeling each time someone connects with my work enough to bring it into their home, business etc. Today I sell my photos online in numerous places, as well as locally.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m quite particular about my photos having the exact look and feel I envision. I often receive compliments on my photography style and editing, which means a lot to me because I put great care into every image.
Of course, everyone’s taste is different, and that can be a real challenge—finding the balance between creating what I love and what others might enjoy. I do my best to capture scenes that inspire me personally, but also those that others may connect with, even if they’re not my usual favorites. Sometimes it’s hard to remember to shoot for others as well as myself, but it’s all part of growing as an artist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
One of the things I truly love about photography is hearing the stories behind my customers’ connections to the places I’ve captured. Many have shared that a photo reminded them of a special spot they used to visit with a loved one — a spouse, family member, or friend. Some of those stories are bittersweet, especially when the person they shared those moments with has passed on.
Those stories really touch my heart, and knowing that one of my photos can bring back cherished memories for someone — and that they’ll enjoy seeing those memories on their wall for years to come — means the world to me.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Happy customers, that are pleased with their purchase from start to finish. My biggest focus is on providing the best customer service I can, with great communication and making sure the customer gets exactly what they are looking for.
