Community Highlights: Meet Jo Ann Ahmadi of Orchard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jo Ann Ahmadi.

Hi Jo Ann, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was in my early 20’s when my husband and I bought our first house. I truly loved shopping for our house. I felt I’d be a great realtor. So now over 30 years later, I’m still in selling homes and continue to love my job!

In February 2006, I was very busy working and and had listings and buyers I was working with. I started to feel sick. After visiting with my doctor, she ordered a couple of exams. My diagnosis was not good. I was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute myeloid leukemia. I went through a denial phase. I felt I was too busy to be sick until my doctor called me and asked, “do you want to live or die?” It took a little tough talk to get me to move and take action.
After several surgeries, chemotherapy, live support and a stroke. I’m still here in the real estate market that I love. Working with my clients and helping them live the American dream, of owning a home. 🏡♥️

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only challenge I faced was after recovering from cancer- I learned that I license had expired. I was so upset I cried a lot, then I came to realize- cancer took a few years from my life . I’m not going to allow it to take my career. I retested and passed the test with a great score.
Other than this , I have been fortunate to have amazing partners to assist me in getting my clients to the closing table.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Orchard ?
I recently moved my license to Orchard. I have to say, I love everything about my company. We offer other services to help sellers sell their home.
I have been with many other brokerage companies before- hands down Orchard is my favorite.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is, I want my clients to know that they will always have my upmost support during their process of buying a home.
I understand this is probably the most important part of their life and a huge investment. I take all of that into consideration so I feel privileged that they have chosen me to represent them so I do my best for all them. It doesn’t matter if they are buying $100k or a $3 million dollar home. My clients all have the best I can possibly do for them.,
