Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Teague.
Hi Nathan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2007 I was performing at Six Flags as a singer/dancer/actor in multiple stage shows. This was my 10th year doing this kind of work at theme parks, cruise ships, and the like. Because of this performance background, my father asked me if i could host a karaoke night at his friends bar. We did the research for equipment needed, visited other karaoke events, put it all together, and Bring It! Productions came to life. If it wasn’t for my father purchasing the initial equipment, this would have never happened. Within 6 months I went From 1 night a week at one bar, to 6 nights at multiple venues. I also delved into straight DJing and started booking weddings, corporate events, and parties. During the 1st year, I also hired my first KJs and DJs and rotated gigs using the equipment I purchased after paying my father back. Since then, we have had ups and downs(covid), but have persevered. We provide many more services and stay busy throughout the year as a full-time production company with 4 full-time employees and multiple part-time. We are looking forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary next year and will keep providing…DJ, Emcee, Karaoke, Photobooths , Lighting, Inflatables, Waterslides, Rentals, Our premier Christmas Caroling group, “The Victorian Secrets”, mobile bartenders, party trays, charcuterie tables, and more….
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We went from 8 DJ/KJs to 1 during covid, and wedding bookings have never been the same. Online and social media makes competition fierce. Testimonials are very helpful unless they are made falsely. Money talks, and if you are willing to pay an exorbitant amount for advertising, you may get left behind. Figuring out pricing fees is difficult when companies charge on a huge sliding scale.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
You Dream It, We BRING IT! We are a client forward production company. We get to know the clients needs and wants when deciding how best to make each event as perfect as can be. We have multiple DJ/KJ/Emcees including myself. Even though we can all do any event, we specialize in some and we try to send that employee to the events they love the most. When we are having a great time, EVERYONE is having a great time! Because we all love what we do, we have multiple amazing ideas to pull from that makes our events above the rest…We can do anything. Weddings, Birthday Parties, Corporate Events, School Dances, whatever you come up with.
DJ/Emcee/Lighting/Karaoke/Photobooth is one specialty. Kiosk and 360 Photobooths are another. These are the main focus of Bring It! Productions. We service San Antonio and ALL surrounding areas as far as Austin to the North and Pleasanton to the South.
We also have rental services including Inflatables/Waterslides/Tables/Chairs/Games, and more. This services Atascosa county.
Another popular service we have is our premier Christmas Caroling A Capella group, “The Victorian Secrets” We provide A Capella entertainment while in Dickens style costumes during the holidays. We have over 50 professional singers that we group in 3 or 4 person groups and service San Antonio, Austin, and all surrounding areas.
We can also provide our party tray and charcuterie table services for any event.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Raising 8 children as an entrepreneur has been quite difficult. Starting out with having to find your own jobs and never having any “guaranteed” income to the onset of insurance and tax calamities that can occur if you don’t stay diligent in you office work.
Making major purchases like Speakers, new photobooths, and inflatables is anxiety riddled. You have to have working equipment and new equipment yearly.
