Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Valdez.
Victoria , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The name Victoria’s Nail Room itself comes from a personal place. my sister and I as teenagers doing our nails, hair, and just enjoying girl time together in our room. That memory is the heart behind my salon: creating a space that feels like comfort, connection, and that same kind of “girl time” energy for every client who walks through the door.
My journey started in the front room of my house. After 7 years in the makeup industry it was time for a change. I had a passion for nails and a dream of creating something of my own, so I turned a small space in my home into the place where I began building my business. At the time, I didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but I was determined to provide great service, build relationships with my clients, and grow one appointment at a time.
As my client base grew, I quickly outgrew that space and knew it was time to take a leap of faith. I moved into a suite and built Victoria’s Nail Room from the ground up. It was both exciting and intimidating because every decision from the layout and design to the services we offered was on me. There were challenges along the way, but seeing my vision come to life made every long day and sacrifice worth it.
Over the years, the business has continued to evolve. What started as just me has grown into a salon with a talented team of 5 nail technicians and 3 other beauty professionals offering a variety of beauty services including an esthetician, a micro blader and now two new tattoo artists. I’ve had the opportunity to expand beyond nails and create a space where clients can come to relax, feel cared for, and leave feeling more confident.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most small business owners, I’ve faced my share of challenges along the way. Starting out in the front room of my house meant wearing every hat myself—from technician and receptionist to marketer and bookkeeper. There were times when growth was exciting but also overwhelming, especially when I outgrew my space and had to decide whether to take the financial risk of moving into a commercial location.
Building my salon from the ground up came with its own set of obstacles. There were unexpected expenses, long hours, and a lot of trial and error. As the business grew, I also had to learn how to lead a team, manage a larger operation, and balance work with my personal life.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth isn’t always comfortable. Every stage of the business has required me to step outside my comfort zone and take risks. Looking back, though, those challenges helped shape both me and my business. They taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture.
The struggles have made the successes even more meaningful, and I’m proud of how far Victoria’s Nail Room has come from those early days in my front room!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There are so many people who deserve credit for the success of Victoria’s Nail Room, and I truly wouldn’t be here without them.
First, my husband deserves a huge thank you. He has been my handyman, my support system, and honestly my biggest hype man through it all. Even when my ideas sounded a little crazy, he never rolled his eyes—he just found a way to help make it happen. His support and belief in me have meant everything.
My family has also played a big role in my journey. My mom especially has been such a blessing, helping me tremendously with our newest location and always being willing to step in wherever she’s needed. Her support has been invaluable during some of the busiest and most stressful seasons of growth. My dad for always bringing in his best advice. And my sister for always telling me no when my ideas get too out of hand!
A very special thank you goes to my girl Angela, who opened the door for Victoria’s Nail Room and gave me an opportunity that helped shape the direction of my business. I will always be grateful for that.
And of course, my clients deserve so much credit. Many of them have been with me since the beginning, and their loyalty, trust, and encouragement are the reason I’ve been able to grow this business into what it is today!
