Hi Aurelio, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My artistic history is not the usual one; I was always attracted to the world of images and especially color, before deciding to become an artist. Although I never thought I could one day become a painter, I never considered myself a good draftsman and that hindered everything. It was one day when I had commissions for other artists and they, for different reasons, couldn’t carry them out, that I found myself needing to be independent, and that’s how I placed my first order for paints and frames.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Well, at first it’s never easy, But one day you make a decision, drawn by the results of a task that begins by surprising even yourself, as if it were a stranger performing it and you were just observing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a figurative painter, although not entirely realistic; I try to add new finishes that break with a realistic image, but I do not enter the world of abstraction at all.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
